TV Schedule, end of year question

Recommended Posts

I know that someone likely has the NFL flex/national game schedule rules avail off the top of their head.

Looking at December, I see the following:

  • SEAvsCAR - has possibilities, but likelyh won't bump a Viking/GB matchup
  • CARvsTB -- This aint being flexed.
  • CARvsCLE - nope, not this one either
  • NOvsCAR - MNF WOO!
  • ATLvsCAR - could have possibilities vs the KCvsSEA game.  Maybe Steelers/Saints would edge up?  This one I'm unsure about
  • CARvsNO - this definitely could be flexed up.  Aint going to be SFvsLAR. Likely not Eagles/Redskins.  Cowboys/Giants aint a draw this season.   Maybe Lions/Packers... but doubtful.

What are the chances of having more than one CAR game being flexed into SNF as the season progresses?

Week 17 Game against Saints is the only one that definitely gets flexed.  Will almost certainly get flexed to at least 4:25, since the game will inevitably have playoff implications, could get flexed to SNF if the division is still up for grabs and based on other matchups.

We still have 2 national night games over the last 8 games, starting Thursday at Pittsburgh.  And the older I get, the more I enjoy and appreciate playing at 1 pm.  Allows me to get amped up earlier and then enjoy the matchups later and on and go to bed early if the late game sucks.

The Seahawks game and the Falcons game could get flexed to 4:25 also.  Should be a fun 2nd half

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
