Kyle Allen should be our backup going forward

Saying that Allen is better than Heinike based upon this game is pretty ludicrous. No one, unless they're just blind, would have said this back in August, September, October or November...My goodness, the reasoning of some of you guys, all in the name of supporting a false narrative and/or agenda, is comical.

Thank you Jesus..

Don’t forget played Chandler and Byron bell instead of a traffic cone, Norman because he didn’t know how to coach him properly, Gano instead of Butker,  put Clark and Matt Kalil at LT instead of trying Moton I mean that’s off the top of my head...I’m sure we could write an essay. His personnel decisions and loyalty are his worst weaknesses.

Ah yes, I forgot about Moton "not being a left tackle" while we're willing to trot out Chris Clark and Marshall Newhouse to protect our quarterback's blind side.

Yikes!

Actually, most of us back in September said that Garrett Gilbert was better than Taylor Heinicke based on what we saw in pre-season.

We didn't see enough of Allen to know much of anything back at that time. Comparing what we see today vs Heinicke in preseason or last week it's pretty clear who looked better "unless you're just blind".

I mean, at least for me, people just lose their credibility when they start spewing out what is basically nonsense.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Rivera had made the best personnel moves this season, but damn, use valid justifications to prove a point.

One can observe--Allen has a stronger arm than H. his pocket awareness seems legit-jury is out.

No, most of us were saying Heinike is better. Certainly enough to lessen your point about Gilbert. Moreover, anyone watching and even listening to those that were watching literally (and perhaps figuratively) closer than us, knew that Allen was far from ready to play in the NFL

    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
    • I'm more surprised our odds to win the division didn't really improve that much after free agency (like +380 -> + 320). I threw a few hundred on us to win the division again at +425 back in February, just because I figured Atlanta and Tampa would get worse. After our free agency, I am still surprised Tampa is the favorite to win the division.
