This. It's time for a 2-for-1 swap. We need to find a young kicker, and let Kasay retire with dignity (ie: force him to retire), and send Lloyd back to the soccer league.

Lloyd is to fat and out of shape to play competitive soccer now :D

I suspect it is a combination of things including: poor practice, not enough practice, and misinformed mechanical instruction. Most of the problems I believe could be linked directly back to Crossman and that this would be observable if one were to have the privilege of being able to closely scrutinize the team and coaches at practice.

Could be... I don't think you'll find too much argument on here that Crossman shouldn't be fired... what can we do. ST continues to hurt this team and with the way the offense is sucking... well, you know where I'm going...

Let's see...some special teams notes from the game yesterday:

We kicked off only twice, neither were touchbacks (from our kickoff specialist), and both were returned for a combined 63 yards = FAILURE.

In comparison, of the four kickoffs we returned, we gained a total of 45 yards = FAILURE.

We fielded 6 punts yesterday with a whopping total of 12 return yards = FAILURE.

We attempted two field goals (39, 44) and missed both = FAILURE.

We muffed a crucial late-game punt, ending all hope of a comeback = FAILURE.

Out of 6 punts, Baker's longest of the day was 49 yards = FAILURE.

Crossman = FAILURE.

I was wondering if someone would find a way to blame the fact that our offense could only score once on a player who has nothing to do with offense, sure enough.

When is the obligatory "It's all Julius Peppers' fault" thread?

Maybe it was one of those seven of eight ducks Jake threw over the middle.

It's too late to bring in someone new this season. Next season, rebuild definitely. But for now let's just stick with the only guy who CAN get us a TB. Kasay couldn't do it once out of ten tries. We don't need an extra body anyway, the season is lost...unless we could bring in a WR. Not that we'd use him anyway.

In other news, I say Lloyd at Harris Teeter on Saturday. He eats bananas.

i'm telling you guys, and i stated this last season.... it's his approach! most kickers take a 10 yard approach on kickoffs. he takes a 5 yard approach and has this awkward little half hitch in it which slows his momentum so its really like a 3 yard approach. if he would develop a full 10 yard running approach he'd kick it in the net every time!

why can't the kicking coach see this? i can.

Cut Lloyd and Kasay and find a new kicker that can do both. It really is that simple. Kasay just doesn't have it.

this is the right choice. like jake, their time has come and gone and we then to cling to players.

it's becoming obvious fox just can't let go. he reminds me of my mom.

    • I mean, no I’m not going to panic when he got 2 Qs and looked great in 1 and looked not great in another (let’s not mention the drop).    Yeah we finally have a team that would be considered average offensively around him. Let’s roll this season.
    • The woe is me everything but Bryce sucks mantra is stale af my friend. Look nobody here is going to argue with the fact Frank Reich was not a good head coach. At the same time. Bryce Young is now in his second season with his second coaching staff and a handpicked young offensive head coach who has been known for working with QB's such as Baker and Geno. As far as the offensive pieces around Bryce we have the 4th highest salary cap allocation (that might be even higher now after the new Moton deal) dedicated to the OL in the entire league. We have 2 first round WR's one of them 8th overall the first time we've ever selected a WR that high in franchise history. And the fact of the matter is Bryce Young did not have a good preseason. It's not the first time it's happened either. We all hope to see he and the rest of the team flip a switch in week 1. But we should all be able to agree that the offensive performances we've seen from the entire QB room (Bryce included) in preseason was simply unacceptable.
    • We have seen Bryce play… what… 9 games with AT BEST what one would consider NFL average WRs? You just can’t see the forest for the trees and keep going back to your lazy take of revisionist history.    he looked AWFUL Y1 with the worst coaching I’ve ever seen in the NFL and one of the weakest WR rooms I can recall. He looked awful first half of y2 and great second half of y2 with average coaching and average skill position. I don’t know where this elite talent argument even comes from.
