In the Hunt (Metro and Atlantic)

Tomorrow is a must win in my opinion, a win get us to within one of both the Jackets and Pens and within three of the Habs.

The following day the Canes could be playing Dallas for a playoff position with the Pens playing the Flames and the Jackets playing the Hawks.

Weird game heading into the 3rd period.  We're winning but we're getting owned in shots and face offs.  Seeing some good goal tending tonight. 

Hopefully we can hold on.  We need to spend some more time in their zone in the third to close this game out.

The Canes just got some more help from the Rangers as they are wrapping up a win against the Sabres.

A win puts us three points ahead of the Sabres and one point back of the Jackets/Penguins.

That's another win for the good guys, Nino with 2 goals to get to 12 points in 12 games.

Depending on the outcomes of tomorrows games the Canes could find themselves in third place in the Metro by the nights end.

Pittsburgh has lost in regulation which means the Canes will be playing for playoff positioning tonight.

John is calling the Rags/Pens game at 12:30 on NBC if you want to listen to our All-Star broadcaster while cheering against the Pens.

A Rangers win means the Canes would hold their spot in the playoffs until at least Tuesday.

Well...it was nice to see us over the line for a night.  I'm glad we can get a bit of rest before our next game.  Good news is the BJ's play Tampa tomorrow....so hopefully we can pick up some points on them.  Every game is big from here on out.

The Canadians lost to the Panthers so if the Jackets lose to the Lightning tomorrow then the Canes will jump back into a playoff position with a win on Tuesday over the Rangers as the Jackets and Canadians are playing on Tuesday (assuming the game ends in regulation).

The Canes have the potential to find themselves in either the first wild card spot or even third place in the Metro depending on the outcome of tonight’s games.

We will need the following to happen:

Canes over Rangers

Regulation winner in Jackets/Habs

Devils over Penguins

They’re all starting to feel like must win games at this point but if we can somehow get out of February winning these last four games then I think that sets us up nicely to potentially capture that third spot in the Metro.
