It’s been a good run boys. I’ll still hold out hope in the 3rd but we only scored what, 4 or 5 goals the entire series, and need 3 at least to win tonight? 

We are just atrocious on PP both offensive and defensive. How many times have we seen just tonight them be short handed and still get better looks on goal than we do. 

I’ll still wear my bunch of jerks shirt with pride, but it’s probably over

Svech needs a lot of minutes here. Gotta start getting pucks on net. Find ways to work guys open inside without shooting into bodies.

Yup it’s been their strength all year, and it shows in this series. We can say bullshit on a few penalties, but some of these are just dumb ones by us that lets them back in and win the game 

we lost our mojo with so much time off and our luck ran out

Our guys are just playing lazy. Dougie legit just let a guy skate in front of him to get a puck and tried at the last second to check him and almost lost his balance

Wouldn't say it has much to do with us being lucky in the playoffs. I think the rest just lulled us. We look exactly like the Isles did right now. Good enough to be here but not good enough to advance. Had we beat them in 5 or 6 we may be looking different right now but that's just speculation. Young team, tons of money, and no need to pay Mrazek or Mac starter money because Nedeljkovic is waiting and ready in Charlotte. Can use our cap space on one of the really good forwards in free agency and locking in some of our core guys for the next 5 years.

One thing I'm noticing is that Canes players aren't expecting the pass a lot of times. Especially on the breakouts. Just gotta be more aware.

That's why I wasn't happy when they swept the Islanders. I said rest for this team is the worst thing that could happen. Sure enough, that's EXACTLY what happened.

"This team wanted to sweep the Islanders." Glad they did whoever told me that on here. It helped them tremendously this series. So fuging dumb.

Unfortunate. Need to use this series as a learning opportunity for the youth. You know what it takes to get here, now learn what it takes to make it all the way. This is an overachieving team and we all knew it back mid-April. The fact that they among the top 2 teams in the East at this point is impressive considering the first three months of the season.

 

Gonna be an interesting off-season to see who stays and who goes. A lot of movement with only the young core being valued highly, I'm thinking. If you're not playing top 9 minutes, you're either replaceable or you better be damn good at generating pressure.
