That Makes Three!

Bill Cowher, Marty Schottenheimer , and our on John Fox, all have said Jake gives us the best chance to win ball games. Bill said it on sunday, in the post game show, Marty said it today on his Sirius Nfl Radio show, and Fox said It today as well on his regular weekly appearance(not the same show as Marty). All 3 are great coaches, except maybe for Fox, and all 3 see the same thing. If all 3 think that is our best option, it really must be our best option.

trying to suck up to Richardson maybe?

Cowher stuck with Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox though...think about it.

yep...wasnt until he went after a QB in the first round (which wasn't his idea) that they could get a ring.

scratch both those guys off the list, though.

backing jake = do not want

While I respect what those guys have done, they almost always say that about a #1. Many of those commentators were saying how Shaun Hill gave the 49ers the best chance to win. Now that he's been yanked and Alex Smith had a good second half, everyone is jumping on that bandwagon.

I bet thats exactly what they are doing, I did not even think about it like that. You are probably right, thats what Parcells said that time. He said it's hard to be honest about a team on a football analyst show, when that team you are talking about could be an opportunity for a job.

If Jake really is our best chance to win we are in a world of hurt.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/carolina-panthers/09000d5d813c14af/Delhomme-to-sit <- More commentary. Not everyone thinks that Jake should start this weekend.

Finally a Video that shows the Barnidge interception being broken down.

I heard someone on here say that Jake only slightly over-threw Barnidge, and if Barnidge had just ran at full speed instead of stopping, he would have had chance to catch that ball. That video proves that not only did Jake Completely miss an open reciever, he threw it behind Barnidge which explains why he stopped.

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
