Why is this kid not playing?

I always liked him in college and thought he would be pretty good in the NFL, I just never thought he would play for Carolina. Maybe he will get his chance soon and prove he is capable of being this teams future QB.

P.S. I still want Tony Pike though.

matt moore could be perfect for our system with our running game. we don't need peyton manning or brady when you are built around the run and you've got two stud rb's. all we need is a qb who can spread it around, NOT TURN IT OVER, and make a big play when it's there.

ESPN reports Fox going with Jake this week because the lack of not having any good backup QBs that can throw. Which is horseshit. Fox is been a total SOB now. You can tell from these clips that Moore can make real good choices when throwing the ball and it looks like the Oline protects him well in these clips aswell. Fox is a complete waste of horsecrap. Fox just going to ride Jake to the unemployment line ain't he. Man this choice Fox made is pretty much thrash. ESPN says fox choose Jake because he thinks Jakes our best chance to win. Total BS. And the Fans know this aswell. Moore can do better then Jake at this point. Fox is just scared Moore might out shine a newly repaid QB in Jake who just got a new contract this offseason. Fox is been stupid now.

Watch the whole games, not 6 highlights. Two were against the Seahawks, who had their worst game of the season, the other 4 against Tampa Bay's backups. Watch the whole entire games and you'll see why he's not starting.

Enjoy watching your hero Delhomme throw more picks.

Nothing he did in those games was anywhere near what Jake has done this year.

:prrr: Dude that was his rookie year anyway. Plus he was 2-1 as starter aswell. But 3 years later he has had time to fully understand the playbook and now it is time for him to get a chance. Like most of people on here has said so far. Matt Moore can't do no worse then Jake has done this season. Aleast Moore is more moblie and gives a better chance at this point.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
