Tim Tebow,Sam Bradford, or Colt Mccoy

I'm going to put together a thread on Tim Hiller when I get around to it. The guy is so Brady-esque it's ridiculous. If you compare the skillset from the two they are nearly identical.

The guy has an absolutely LIGHTING fast release, more than any QB in the draft, maybe even in the entire NFL.

Works in a pro-style offense. Anticipates and adjusts for blitzes presnap.

High football IQ, goes through his progressions, knows when to throw the ball away, looks off the safety, makes QUICK reads, leads receivers away from defenders.

Doesn't panic under pressure. Very accurate, great GREAT timing, throws before receivers are even out of their breaks.

The knocks on him are his arm strength, which is a legit concern. Just looking at him his arms are skinny as f**k. He could definitely benefit from adding some upper-body mass.

Also, his footwork isn't great, but not terrible. He tends to become a statue at times but he compensates with his quick reads and quick release.

And naturally strength of competition is a concern.

Overall, he could end up being the best QB out of this draft.

Adding mass to his upper body could affect his fast release. what school does this guy goto?

Bradford's only had one injury. Personally I'd like to have Bradford and Gresham together, a new dynamic duo.

He had 1 injury which he reinjured. Reinjuries can sometimes lead to chronic problems. Not always, but that's the caution flag on Bradford.

Life. Wife had a long, yet short and terrible pregnancy. He was premature and spent two months in ICU and I don't have much Internet access here at work. I'm on my iPhone now.

So, it's been a little of everything. Thanks for asking!

Ah. Well good to see you again. I always respected your opinion on here.

Not his release, his arm strength. He doesn't have the best deep ball. Accuracy is there, but he tends to float balls at times. There's absolutely nothing wrong with his release. I'm going to post some digital copies of his tape. The time it takes him to make his reads, decision, windup and release is ridiculously fast. And to answer your question, Western Michigan University.

Did you make sure if he's not predetermining his pass? Sometimes with really fast releases, QBs usually predetermine a receiver to go to. If not, even with a lacking arm, he could be a good QB for us.(haha i doubt we'd pick him, but still)

I know what you mean but unless he's predetermining that he's going to his #3 option then no. You can see him check his #1 read, covered, check the #2, covered, then sling it to the #3, all in about half a second. This is all in a pro-style system making progressive reads and reading defensive formations.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
