And let's talk for a moment about Gruden's role in that whole craziness with you-know-who...

If you've worked long enough, you've probably had at least one chance to meet a boss who was trying to be everybody's friend even while people were laughing at him and walking all over him. That's Gruden in this story. He did everything but offer free massages and Brown still spit in his face.

Gruden acted like the typical parent that wants to be their problem child's friend, not realizing the child is taking advantage of them.

Mayock may or may not come out looking like a winner when this is all over, but at least he won't come out looking like a moron. Gruden, on the other hand...

I have no idea how that whole mess is going to turn out.

I do know this: I've never really gotten the appeal of Gruden. I know there were people who wanted him as our head coach, but I never did. Still wouldn't.

I honestly think his best talent is marketing himself and making himself seem a lot better than he really is. Combine that with his massive ego and he's basically the NFL version of Madonna.

Not a Gruden fan either, but I think it's far from a foregone conclusion that AB is going to go to NE and everything is going to be hunky dory in Foxborough.

Wouldn't surprise me. The patience is starting to really wear thin here in CO. I think he'll make it through the season though. Rookie 2nd round QB Drew Lock is on IR designated to return. If they keep looking like this, Elway might need Lock to come in and look like the future of the franchise to save his neck. He's had to spend so many roster building resources on whiffing on QBs that it's hurt the entire roster, not to mention not having a QB.
