O-line. We can't keep a clean pocket, making us one dimensional at times. This absolutely puts too much pressure on the defense and CMC to keep the team in games. A running QB can help mitigate that problem, but it's time this team starts putting a premium on the offensive line again.

2015 proved that this team didn't need to have a suffocating, dominate defense. Keep Cam clean in the pocket, even with mediocre receiving threats, and we can score points in bunches. Only thing needed from the defense was to win the turnover battle, which was pretty easy given the offense's ability to take care of the ball.

I'd go all out on the o-line with proven vets in as many positions as possible. No one's safe on the oline as far as I'm concerned. If you can be upgraded, then you're odd man out.

100% agree. It's an area we havd neglected for too long. Not only in quality of starters but the complete lack of decent depth.

To make myself feel better I looked up how many winning seasons Browns had 2000-2019.  The answer is two.

Maybe this will help too.....

Since 1995 the Panthers have 7 winning seasons.  Not nearly as bad as the Browns, but a hell of a lot worse than it should be.

Comparatively speaking, yeah that should make you feel good

Objectively speaking, seven winning seasons out of twenty-five? Damn!

Maybe my fandom pushed it out of my mind, jus how average we have been...long term?

Read his post and decided to take a look, it was somehow worse than I expected.

Under Richardson, the team literally finished at exactly 500. I think it was like 199-199-1.

I mean, it could be worse but geez...

Yeah, we do. Daley and Little are promising, they're just rookies. Our 4 DTs are 25, 29, 31, and 33. Butler is the only youth and I doubt he'll be back next year.

TBH, I am not sure how much I am going to bank on those two guys as the core of our OL. We have six remaining games for them to prove that they can perform at a high level. We will see what happens.

I think Daley will be kicked inside to OG next season.

I think the OL next season looks like:

Little - Daley - ??? - Turner - Moton

    • This fan base and being cool with mediocrity is infuriating. Making excuses for billionaires who had no business imploding a franchise and making us the Browns of the South.  Good on you man being a glass half full kind of person, I am not. I have zero faith in Tepper "evolving" and quoting Morgan in saying they been easy to work with is not any evidence of that actually happening. I'm sure if I go back and watch Fitt, Rhule and Reich pressers they said the same b.s. towing the line jargon to appease their boss. Stuff like, O they've been great, such great collaboration or some crap. Give me wins that is the ONLY analysis I need to judge are clown of an owner.....
    • You're equating wins with evolving, but It's a little more complex than that. This will be the new managment's third season. It will also be the third season where the Teppers have taken a step back. If you think that the only way to measure improvements due to seeming changes for the better is wins and losses after only two years--one being a playoff berth, "limping" in there or not, then perhaps you're being more emotional. By most analysts' measure, Dan Morgan has the Panthers moving in the right direction. He can only get us to where we need to be with the blessing and cooperation from the owners. He has said several times now, that they are easy to work with. Rhule, Reich and Fitterer did not say that. In fact, you could literally see the pressure put upon them by their countenance.  Bottom line: it has been reported that they have changed and everything that we've seen (and not seen) is indicative of that belief. We were a playoff team, and we had a good showing. With the moves that have been made this offseason, and last offseason to be honest, NFL types are expecting the Panthers to compete for the division the upcoming season, and that's even before the draft. This is all with a QB that is still a question mark.  Rome wasn't built in a day. David Tepper has seemed to internalize that, and now many fans need to appreciate the same. It could be argued that we didn't have any business winning the games we did in '24 or '25, much less make the playoffs this past season. A positive transition appears to be afoot. We are close to becoming a perennial contender, and that's thanks to a developing culture change that is being allowed to happen. This was not the case when the Teppers, particularly David, were fumbling around trying to figure out how to run an NFL franchise.
    • Dude is a beast on ST. I like the emphasis on special teams with him and Simmons.
