The defense and offensive line are just so laughably bad.

For the OL, we simply can not score when we have the ball at the opponent's 2 or 3 yard line.  We are 1 for 4 in 2-point conversions, and with the ball at that point late, with the game on the line, we blow chunks.  It cost us the game against Tampa, cost us a shot at OT in Green Bay (we'd have had to pull off a TD and 2-pointer from the same spot), and cost us a potential win today (I say potential because there is no guarantee the Saints don't continue the drive and tie the game afterwards).

It's so bad we should consider intentionally taking a delay or false start in those situations.  I've seen pass-happy teams have that problem before, but our problem is we just can't win line battles or even hold them to draws.  It is yet another thing we are not very good at.

Part of me thinks we went 3-4 just so Ron could claim he was evolving.  tepper should have fired this GM/Coach combo in the off season.  Ron got one more reprieve and this was the mechanism he came up with to save his ass one more time.   Now his resume will claim 'it takes a year to make the switch' and 'injuries'.

I am one that gives Rivera more credit than to ascribe everything he does to angling to keep his job. So a minority here.

It always has taken a year. Kind of accepted as long as I can remember. And we were down some players.

Not that I have enjoyed watching this any more than any other fan.

Before we commit to drafting OL in the 1st, let's remember that we only have two DTs under contract for next season and that's Short who hasn't been seen since he got paid and Poe who may have just destroyed his knee. Oh wee mayne.

This true but at this point if we can't score points to win a game It wouldn't matter if we drafted Reggie White and Allen Paige
