And I think someone who is a lot more savvy with the contracts. I think that is Hurney's biggest struggle, assessing future risk and evaluating contract worth.

When he talked about how he wanted one of the new positions to "interface with the business side", contract negotiation and salary cap management were my first thoughts.

In general, I am 100% fine with a compartmentalized, "by committee" front office. I think I am okay with Hurney staying in that scenario. For all his faults he has enough positives to potentially be of use. On the surface Tepper seems to have come to that conclusion.

That said....short leash.

It was a Hurney move.. But again Hindsight 20/20 .. Clausen wasn't a bad prospect coming out of college and most football ppl thought he was a steal in the 2nd round..

MB clowns with no jobs in actual football will scream from their couch "how they knew he would suck"... But reality is most "actually" paid football ppl were wrong about Clausen as well..

"Actually" the only people who's opinions and actions directly affect a football team (you know GM's and scouts employed by the teams) passed on this guy, we didn't.

What you are saying is it wasn't a bad pick because he was at the top of Mel's Big Board.
