Tepper sounded like he valued Hurneys eye for talent but was aware of his inconsistencies in later rounds. Sounds like he will have a say in the first round fir the most part and the rest of the draft will be handled by the new personnel.

In this article on panthers.com Tepper seems to be debunking the OPs title that Marty is going to be just doing college scouting or being demoted. Tepper reaffirmed that Marty is a good GM  and doing a good job. The VP coming in is actually going to link the football and business side. He used the term someone on the outside who would be the new VP and someone from the inside which is Hurney.  Didn't see what many posters want to happen which is to get rid of Hurney or reduce his influence. I don't think Hurney may be the long term solution at 63 but for those folks wanting him gone or reduced in responsibility, doesn't sound like that is Tepper's plan right now. He could change that but right now he affirmed Hurney and it is  not qualified as some would like to believe .
