Cam vs. Tua

if tua is there you take him.  cam being here has no impact on that.  then solidify the interior of the line because its easier than finding tackles.   its gonna take a minute to fix this team.  left handed is something d's don't see very often.  it'll turn into an advantage.   missing on a qb isn't the death sentence it use to be.  its not a problem any more.  he's worth the risk.

I’m not sure they can determine this soon whether or not he can or will develop osteonecrosis. An angiogram might lead you to believe that there’s no significant vascular injury to the femoral head, but I’m not sure it would be definitive.

Well we would probably lose all our Auburn fans

Doubtful.

There are plenty of Bama players I would love to see this team draft.

Just because Tua isn't one of them doesn't mean I'm against drafting Bama players.  I really wanted center Ryan Kelly in the 2016 draft, but he was off the board by the time the Panther's picked in the 1st round.  I wanted O.J. Howard in 2017, but I can't knock the CMC pick over him.  Wanted OT Jonah Williams in this last draft but, again, he was gone when we picked.

I just don't want a small, injury-prone QB who I believe (and its just my opinion) primarily looks good due to all the outstanding pieces around him.  Period.

I'm not a scout, and certainly don't have access to the medicals, but if he checks out both physically, and mentally, and he slides...I wouldn't have a major issue taking him, in fact I would probably like to.

That said, I would prefer a veteran journeyman, a trade back in the 1st to acquire more picks, and really go after the offensive line.  When we start the rebuild, I hope we start it there.

This. Tua is injury prone and a little undersized. People need to look at his WR's YAC. He hits slants and the receivers do the rest of the work. Jeudy/Ruggs/Smith will all be taken in the first three rounds of the draft. Hell, Waddle might even get a look.

So true, all 4 of those guys are getting picked pretty early IMO.  Best WR corps I can remember in college football.  Amazing.

so y'alls argument is it helps a qb a lot to have great wr's and a good o-line, and that's why we shouldn't take tua?

I'll repeat my very clear "argument" for you since you seem to have missed it right above:

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
