Kasay's Stutterstep

this isn't another thread bashing kasay...just an observation. i think the stutterstep had alot to do with the miss

it was almost like the ball was supposed to be snapped then when kasay started. had the ball been snapped then, the wind would not have mattered b/c the ball would've curved still when the wind gusted, but within the crossbars. the gust of wind came at the right time. the stutterstep threw off the timing.

just my opinion, not an excuse. more of an observation

i wanted to see if it had some validity to it amongst ya'll

Yeah I agree. He expected the ball to be there a fraction of a second sooner and it threw off the execution of his kick by just a hair.

He talked about it after the game and said he just reset himself and that it didn't not affect him at all. He just missed. I don't remember seeing it when it happened and didn't realize it until I saw the article in the Observer. I need to go back and watch.

i didn't know about him saying he reset but at that time it looked like to me the ball was supposed to be snapped and with that extra second the wind was able to pick up.

I saw the stutter step right away but hes missed what about 1 or 2 this season....misses happen and like everybody has said under those weather conditions it was a tough kick.

We should blame our offense for mustering up that pathetic attempt at getting into field goal range.

i still think that reset had more to do with that miss than anything. 9 times out of 10, kasay makes it. even with that wind and the way it was kicked, it was good until the last second or 2, which led me to believe the reset slightly affected it.

As a Carolina Panther fan, you have every right to be upset about the loss. A game that close, it really hurts when we can't pull it out. BUT, I'll be damned if I let people blame the loss on John Kasey. Sure he messed up in the Superbowl in 2003, but we would not have even played in that game if it wasn't for him! That much is obvious.

Various play calling on offense and poor play on defense attributed to this loss.

We showed last night that we are a good team. Sure we need to work on a few key areas, but we have a real chance to get back to the NFC Championship.

Now go ahead, call me a damn fool, call me anything you want, but I'm a football fan, and I'm a Carolina Panthers fan. I read this board a lot and I can not help but notice how fast people are ready to curse our team. I'm expecting many replys will look like this,

"Shut up you girl! I'm a fan, and I have every right to whine and bitch and moan like anyone else. I'm being realistic you dick"

Well save it. Go Panthers! Beat the Saints!
