There will be no closure on the Cam situation for months

it's the same as any other transaction being worked out right now. The details can be put in place anytime you want. It just can't be finalized until later.

Not exactly the same. In a normal situation, teams could get a physical done before even agreeing on terms since we’ve given permission, and it could happen immediately. They could fly him in on a second’s notice for a physical. Also unique is Cam’s health situation. No team at all would trade anything for him without having their doctors get a look at him. Unhealthy players like Cam don’t get traded very often, they’re usually cut. But this is a former MVP, he has more value than most, even with health uncertainty. This is not the same as any other transaction. No other player’s situation is as clouded in mystery of injury as Cam. Maybe Tua in the draft is comparable.

When there's massive turnover with a team and organization it's probably safe to assume that same turnover in fanbase, at least for awhile. The Panthers that we all rooted for are soon to no longer exist. There's positives and negatives to that but there's going to be fan turnover. Hell, even our media guys are leaping off this flaming ship.

That’s all good. I’ll be here with the ship. Keep Pounding.

Does a physical have to happen at team facilities?

If they want their doctors to look at him, yes. Otherwise at this time can only have a neutral physician check players out. PFT and others have been suggesting that no team will even bother with that and will just wait to do physicals of their own before anything is official.

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
