Yeah I'm turning down the difficulty. The werewolves jump through the door, jump on my characters and pound on them on the floor - I even had it just now where one got off Sten only for a second one to jump on him before he could get up. Silly.

Those Dead Trenches in the Deep Roads were definitely a bish. I finished that up last night. That final battle is absolutely insane and took me 3 or 4 tries to get it right. Basically it ended up being me tanking everything while Wynne scrambled for small bits of mana to keep me up the whole time. I just slowly took down the boss and all the other enemies lol. Must have taken 10 minutes as those rock guys have a lot of physical resistance.

I have a question regarding Wynne though. I have her set as a "Healer" and have built her as such. The one thing I changed was for her to not cast that Regen spell and not to use Arcane Bolt so I could help her mana problems. However, she still manages to use it all almost every fight.

Is there a talent I should get that I'm missing or something else I'm doing wrong? Or am I supposed to be manually switching to her every 3 seconds in fights to chug mana pots?

Other than that I've been shredding the poo out of everything, but it's always the matter of keeping her mana up.

I started another game. I originally started out as a human noble warrior. But I misspent some skill/stat points. I hate to do it but it's frustrating having a warrior with trapmaking skills when you can't really set traps as a warrior too effectively. Not to mention all the chests I'm missing out on because I don't have any good lockpickers. So I restarted as a Dalish elf and I'm going to try and do it right this time.

Don't worry about lockpicking that much. I never found anything worth a crap so I stopped bringing a rogue. If you want you can always come back later and get all the chests.

Anyone else get the ashes yet to save the Redcliff guy? I thought the puzzle was clever. And damn that dragon had tons of stuff on it.

Yeah, my rogue hasn't found much in chests. Usually the same type of armor for an area that is below what I'm wearing. Not everything is junk, but the good stuff is definitely rare enough to ignore. It's just like looting an extra npc you've killed. Still, I enjoy that and stealing. Pickpocketing guards is a solid source of health potions.

I did the ashes immediately, but I never summoned the big dragon that flies around. I'm still carrying around the horn to summon him. It just seemed pointless at the time and I was in a hurry to take the ashes back. If you meant the dragon inside, it's supposedly got the best bow in the game. That last puzzle took me quite a while. Much better than the fire puzzle when getting Shale.

When I recommend games I still expect people to check into the basics on their own.

Update for the PC players...

Always wanted to store your precious items in a chest? Every roleplaying game is also about collecting items. That’s why it is important to have a place where you can store your loot and such. If you happen to have downloaded the DLC Warden’s Keep such place is available for you. If you have not then there is now a solution.

On the Social Network site BioWare published a small mod which lets you store items in a chest in your main camp. Download it for free (Size: 8.59kB).

I picked this game up a week ago, and I've loved it!

I just finished the the Anvil of the void quest, and OMG that "Broodmother" was a pain in the ass!

I've got all my treaty people in place, and move'n on.

I'm started and elf mage, missed getting Sten cuz the lady wouldn't free him, so I moved on. LOL Oh well, he sounds like a weakling anyway.

    • We're in alignment regarding Thielen not being a game changer/breaker for the Panthers. Getting the ball into hands of playmakers like TMac and XL is going to open up things more than it is getting it to Thielen underneath (or letting him go after 50/50 balls 20yds downfield in his mid-30s). However, in a room where the other guys are two second year guys and two rookies, having a reliable vet that they can learn from is just as important as it is for the QB to have as a reliable third option. I can see that being worth $8.5M (just 3%) of the $279.2M cap... especially when looking at what's left out there: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/position/wr However, the idea that the team is forcing production to Thielen and leading to losses isn't supported by the data. Targets, not receiving yards, are how you can tell if a player is being "force fed." In the two games mentioned, let's look at the other players available... vs. TB 10 targets - Adam Thielen 9 targets - David Moore 8 targets - Tommy Tremble, Xavier Legette 3 targets - Jonathon Brooks 1 target - Dan Chisena, Feleipe Franks, Stephen Sullivan vs. PHI 11 targets - Adam Thielen 8 targets - Xavier Legette 5 targets - Chuba Hubbard, David Moore 2 targets - Tommy Tremble 1 target - Ja'Tavion Sanders, Deven Thompkins There isn't exactly a bounty of other names to throw the ball to. In those games, AT was one of the top 2 WRs. Diontae had been gone by that point.   So... yea. Agreed that Thielen isn't exactly carrying the team in his mid-30s, but it's undeniable that he was the most reliable target last season that still has quite a bit of value this season. Whether or not that value is reflected in a manner folks think on the contract is going to come down to personal taste. However, the idea that the team was forcing production to AT and that was the reason behind some losses couldn't be further from the truth.
    • I would also add that I think it's more than money.  AT has looked absolutely miserable out there at times, and there was a lot of speculation he would demand to be traded.  Personally, I thought he was a lock to be moved last year.  Maybe his hamstring is the only thing that prevents that from happening. The fact that he's not only willing to come back and play, but excited about it, really bodes well for Bryce.  AT is a veteran and he knows the game.  If he didn't have confidence in Bryce, I guarantee you he wouldn't be in a Panther uniform this year.  I'll take that as a positive.
