My problem with Little is that he never lived up to his prodigious billing in college. Then he was supposed to be drafted as an NFL prospect based on that prodigious talent level. Then he goes to the combine and tested very poorly athletically.

What were we drafting him on? Everything about him screamed below average NFL OT prospect, not trade up to draft this guy with the 5th pick of the 2nd round. He probably should've been a mid-round pick based on his play and measurables. Now we've traded for an injury prone over the hill LT and we're talking about kicking him inside to OG, but a select few people still think he's our future at LT. Wake up and look at the reality. Everything we're currently doing screams this organization has all but given up on that possibility.

No it does not... You can see it your way.. But Hurney himself just said the getting Okung thing gives them a vet stopgap to help with the development of both Little and Daley...

The same thing they tried to do last year and failed with Darryl Williams.. Is what they are trying to do with a "actual" LT vet.. Hopefully Little and sit and learn or play another position and learn for a year before throwing them out there... I would hope they would do this even if they draft a LT this year.. Because no matter what you ppl think rookie LT suck and struggle when transitioning to the NFL no matter how high you draft them or how talented they are.... Most smart teams try to have a stopgap LT vet to help with that transition instead of throwing rookies out there to get QB killed..

So in year 3 we hope a 2nd round pick can give us production?  Sounds like a marty hurney special

No they were hoping in year 2 but Darrly Williams (who had never played LT) was actually getting ppl hurt ... And for some strange reason Ron and his staff refused to put Moton (who did play LT) over there... So they threw the rookies into the fire with little to no help... Another bad Ron decision...

You do know Gross didn't start at LT his rookie year right????

They gave him a year at RT before moving him to LT the next year .. And he was a top 10 pick...

Assuming we take Brown, I would love a good CB in round 2. I don’t post much so I can’t make a new thread so I put it here instead. Anyone has a good feel for the CBs that could be available? Who would be the best one for us? Mock drafts have the corners all over the place (excluding the top 2).

    • If we lose tomorrow we’d have to sweep the Bucs in order to get into the playoffs. With a loss tomorrow the Bucs would then hold the tie breaker if we finished tied If we can’t split with NO then we sure as hell not sweeping Tampa It’s win or go home tomorrow in my eyes  Biggest game since 2017 playoff game imo
    • Grok AI: No, there are no credible reports that the Carolina Hurricanes offered Jake Guentzel the same contract terms as Tampa Bay (7 years, $63 million total, $9 million AAV) before he signed with the Lightning. Reliable sources, including The Athletic, consistently reported that Carolina’s offer during negotiations was an eight-year deal worth $64 million ($8 million AAV). Guentzel did not accept it promptly, leading the Hurricanes to trade his negotiating rights to Tampa Bay on June 30, 2024, for a 2025 third-round pick. He then quickly signed the 7x$9M deal with the Lightning on July 1, 2024. Guentzel himself later reflected (in 2025 interviews) that staying in Carolina was his initial preference, but negotiations stalled and “didn’t work out,” with Tampa’s opportunity becoming a “no-brainer.” No reports from outlets like ESPN, NHL.com, or insiders (e.g., Elliotte Friedman, Pierre LeBrun, Frank Seravalli) indicate Carolina ever matched or offered the Lightning’s exact terms—total money, AAV, or length. The extra year was Carolina’s key advantage, but they reportedly stuck closer to $8M AAV and moved on when Guentzel explored options.
