NCfan's week prior mock

1st: Javon Kinlaw- and not at 7.  After Simmons and Okudah go off the board.  They trade down and gather another 3rd rounder.  Panthers have a Massive need on the interior DL, and there is too much Smoke going around between rhe Panthers and Kinlaw.

2nd: Noah Igbinoghene- Igbinoghene has been one of the fastest risers in this class.  But doesn't make it into the 1st being in this Strong CB class.  He is a freak who has only played CB for 2 years but has an extremely high ceiling.  Someone who I could easily see this staff falling in love with.

3rd: Donavon Peoples Jones- another high upside freak.  Kind of hard for some to believe we go WR this high after our free agency.  But this Joe Brady offense is going to be 3-4WR sets.  Jones reminds me of Michael Thomas here who Brady had in New Orleans.  Big Body athlete outside.  This allows Moore to potentially move to the slot, which may be best for him.  The depth of this WR class pushes him to our lap here.

3rd(via trade): Matt Hennessy- another Rhule guy.

4th: James Lynch- begin the fan base freak out, 2 former Rhule players back to back.

5th: L'Jarius Sneed- big tall athletic CB

5th: Cameron Clark- local UNCC kid, who brings depth

6th: Levonta Taylor- highly ranked out of HS that never panned out.  But is a freak Athlete, who this staff may see potential.

7th: Rodridgo Blankenship- yep, HotRod.  I don't think this New staff is married to our current Kickers.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
