There were reports that Gettleman actually tried to trade up to the #2 pick to get Fournette...

Thankfully it sounds like Ron and Shula sold him on McCaffrey. For all the flack they got on here (much of it deserved), it sounds like we owe the drafting of CMC largely to them.

I wanted Fournette over CMC and it wasnt close. This is just another prime example of one thats constantly working and the other is lazy.  CMC is simply evolving while Fournette is a 8th year college guy.

I’m just glad we have the people who can see the value in his preparation and focus. We have guys like Luke and TD to look back to and say that’s the culture and who we want. We want to find the next CMC at whatever position that is.
