Kobe Thread

You certainly have a lot of respect for Phil Jackson, good to see. Jordan probably would have sucked without Jackson as well.

Jordan actually got his team out of the 1st round of playoff series without Phil. We'll see if Kobe can.

Lakers and Heat have essentially the same teams except for the Lakers 6th man last year.

Negative. Not only did you lose 6th man of the year, but you lost Shannon Brown, and some other bench players of a championship squad. You replaced them with Roberts, Blake, etc. Then guys like Metta World Peace are a shell of what they were even 2 years ago. Miami meanwhile dumped Bibby, picked up a young PG in Cole, picked up a vet off the bench in Battier, and a big body in Eddy Curry. Outside of your big 3 (Kobe/Gasol/Bynum) the Lakers roster leaves a lot to be desired.

Kinda harsh for Antwan and Mo though, both former NBA Allstars. Where's the love?

Mo Williams was an all star once when he played with LeBron, he wasnt before and hasnt been one after. Twan while a solid player, has 0 playoff legacy and was washed up by the time he got to Cleveland. Now tell me how many 1st round draft picks have played in LA since 2003? Plenty.

As far as willing their teams in the Playoffs, DWade showed us all how that is done last year willing his team to victory in Game 3 as Lebron disappeared and Dallas finished the series with 3 straight wins. Without DWade the humiliation would have been complete for #6.

D Wade didnt will anything. LOL. The Heat lost the series. It'd be different if they won. LeBron continues to overshadow Wade, and at this point in his career (he's 30 and very injury prone) most people understand this team will only win a chip if LeBron plays well. His playoff performance overall dwarfed Wade (Wade was non-existent against Chi), but he has to carry that over to the Finals. I still give him and Wade credit for actually getting 2 games against that Dallas team. Your guy with 3 7 footers in the paint, and a HOF coach couldnt win one.

Those final 4 NBA Champ games last year Lebron scored 17, 8, 21 and 17 points. Truly a pathetic effort and the same path the games "most talented" player has followed his entire career, always underachieving when it matters.

LeBron played poorly in the Finals, but he wasnt the first or last Superstar to do so. As a Laker fan Im sure you recall "Tragic" Johnson's pitiful NBA Finals in 1984 in which the Celtics won, and Magic took criticism the entire offseason for his lackluster performance. He was told he wasnt the leader or clutch player Larry Bird was. He used it as motivation and led LA to a title the following season. I think we're gonna see the same thing here, and if James is able to lead the Heat to the Finals 2 consecutive years in a row, and win this season, the media onslaught will cease.
