Lord have mercy at Tracey Edmonds. Prime is a lucky man. If I was Babyface, I would’ve never let her go. lol, anyways, here’s Deion. He’s going to be a king in Jackson. With Mississippi being full of football talent, I’d expect him to put JSU into play for some of that top tier talent

Mississippi isn’t a horrible place. It’s a state with a lot of systemic racism, but a lot of the people there are some good folks. Don’t know much about Jackson, but I spent most of my teenage and some of my adult life in the state. My parents still live in Biloxi now, and my lil bro just graduated from Miss State, leaving Starkville. I moved from NC as a young kid, thinking I was walking into hell on earth (especially for a black man), but it wasn’t bad at all.

Also, they would have to get through Grambling State each year just to get to the celebration bowl. It wouldn’t matter, because Deion or not, they’d still lose to my alma mater, NC A&T, at the celebration bowl.

Anyways, I read he’s bringing a star studded coaching staff with him. Terrell Owens will be one of his coaches.

I said in an earlier post that he’d be a king in Jackson. Well, rumor is, a lot of the folks, especially the JSU alum, aren’t really feeling the move. Think he got on just by name. JSU alum are a tough bunch, and sometimes a bit delusional about their team. If Prime doesn’t have them winning soon, they’ll let him hear about it.

was having this conversation with a friend about a black dude he knows that said he'd rather live in miss than NC because at least you know where you stand with people.  i have nothing to contest or support what he said tho

They should be grateful that he even thought about being the coach.

Did you see Bomani Jones' take on the hire?

He has been negative with his takes lately.

I guess he's going this route because ESPN keeps scrapping his TV shows.

I love my home in NC, and my home in MS, but I could see myself going back to MS if the opportunity presented itself. I’m like ole boy; I prefer I know where I stand with you. If you’re racist, let me know, so I know to stay away and not put myself in positions to where I’d need to depend on said racist person. It could be quite segregated in a lot of Mississippi, and honestly, I was fine with it at times. All I ask is for fairness. Just give me equality. You don’t have to like me or wanna be near me. With all that said, it wasn’t that bad where I’m from in Mississippi. The Coast isn’t the Mississippi everyone talks about.

after working for some racist business owners that absolutely would not hire women or PoC, i can understand this line of thinking.  you don't want to support someone that doesn't support you, and we had a lot of them as customers.  all i could do was go above and beyond for those customers, and treat them as best as i can, and i got out of there as soon as i could

    • We keep referring to it as Over drafting him like he was really a first round draft pick. We traded up at the end of the first to get him in a deal with Buffalo so that we could grab him and get an extra year on his contract if needed. At the time that sounded like "If he really soars, we can get that fifth year extension automatically". It really probably meant, "We might need five years to really get him up to starting WR speed."  He was basically a second rounder with a potentially meaningless pick as well to pay for those rights. Still, I think that with him we are on the Kelvin Benjamin bubble right now... will he ever be more than just an athlete? Can he really learn to fight and compete for that ball? Can he learn professional routes? Can he handle the fame and more money than he's ever seen in his life? Can he handle all of the pressure a fanbase puts on him? Tough shoes to fill. Not sure I'd want to be in them. I hope he gets it all together soon. A lot, most draftees, can't. Good luck and God bless to the young man. He's got a lot of work to do in a very unforgiving workplace.
    • This is the #1 reason I defend Bryce. Everyone around him is learning on the job, including him. But hey in 3 years we could have a talented offense that grew up together.
    • Nope. No balling out but he could latch on as a backup elsewhere. I still think he would be the weak link on a ridiculously loaded team that would create problems in the Playoff and while facing other really good teams. His limitations are just to much at this level. I have zero fear of playing him in the future. It's a litmus test for the D, granted the D is pretty awful currently so none needed.
