You know how teams sometimes give little awards for players doing well during games? Maybe our team needs to do the same thing to players who have bad games. After the game is over, the team can vote for the player who had the worst game and then Smitty can punch him right in the balls.

Smitty has the biggest heart in the Panthers locker room.

Smitty also takes too many things to heart, which is why he's constantly mad at the world.

It's what makes him great. It's also what is constantly getting him in trouble.

I don't know if what the original poster said is true, but knowing both people it sure rings true. Smitty once blew up in the locker room the day after the Panthers gave Kris Jenkins a huge contract while Smitty was waiting for his deal to get done. This was four or five years ago. He was yelling at the media, who nicknamed him The Little Monster (a nickname they use to this day).

I've seen him blow up at interns who wanted to interview him for the Game Day magazine. Why? They interviewed "lesser" players before they got to him.

As fans of the team, I understand why a lot of you defend him to the hilt. If there is one player on the field who would sacrifice his body for a game-winning play, it's him. But I have to tell you...he's not the ideal co-worker. You walk on eggshells constantly.

Its not like he is T.O. he could be a bigger prima donna, as we all know WRs are. Smith at least gets mad at players who arent giving it their all which I give Smith much credit for. Its not like he is saying "Throw me THE DAMN BALL," or renaming himself it ocho nueve.

I give Smith much respect and lots of leeway, he gets paid millions to go out and play a game, he demands other people go out and give it their all as well. Dwayne Jarrett learn your playbook...and wow he doesnt have a DUI in well what a year or so? and he is getting better. Had Smith not blown up at him maybe he'd be cut right about now.

I think that it involved more than Lucas' coverage, Im sure there was a lot of he said, he said...and we all know how Smith's anger is...so a misstimed yo mama joke coulda just been the tipping point we will never know
