Here's where things stand headed into tomorrow.

Los Angeles Chargers Head Coach (Anthony Lynn's status up in the air)

REPORTEDLY SAFE

Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy
Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor
Broncos Head Coach Vic Fangio
Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson

OTHER STORYLINES

Giants GM Dave Gettleman may be retiring or could possibly take a different role (would be the second time he's made such a move). Of so, the Giants could be targeting Patriots executive Nick Caserio due to his connection with Head Coach Joe Judge.

If Schneider is out of Seattle, I really hope we go all in on him.

He's not, but there's a loophole.

Detroit - or another team - can technically pursue him if they offer him full roster control because he doesn't have it in Seattle (Pete Carroll does).

Given what we've heard about our front office taking a collaborative "coach centric" approach, could we offer that?

I honestly don't know.

Thank you Mr. Scot--and in advance--you always do a great job of keeping us current with this stuff.  And yes, it hurts me to say that.

Plenty of other people typically add tweets, links and such. I'm just starting a thread.

yeah, but you know this stuff pretty well and you tend to synthesize everything so that those of us who do not get into the research (front office people) can understand it---you may be modest about it, but it helps me grasp it so when someone at work says, "He how about that GM opening?"  I can say something better than "What's a GM?"

Meanwhile...

They're the cheapest organization in the NFL. Hell, maybe all of pro sports. Taylor is 4-23-1. The ONLY reason he's being retained is because Mike Brown is too cheap to buy out his contract and pay another coach. Joe Burrow really should've Eli'd their asses.

    • Brother I hate to tell you but that's a terrible draft. You hit at 51 but the rest is...not good.
    • If you check next year there's 50 mill in cap space, * without this years draft class or next. 5+ should allow this year given its top 51. Next it jumps and you need another 5-10 mill for 27 draft class. Most team like to carry 10 into each season for injuries. It goes fast....... I feel it pains as a "hater" *but* if my fav Panthers team decides BY is thee guy......(just how...)... I feel they should offer that malik Willis contract as the goal and base for a contract.  I believe they feel strong enough to sign these top FA, they are going for it right now........ So that hurts my idea of drafting a starting QB in 27 or even 26....Its hard to reset "going all-in" with a rookie QB learning the NFL game. Hell who knows what QB will be cut after this year too, no one thought Tua or Murray was getting cut before this past season, NO ONE. Watson could be a FA at any point this or next.  Honestly wildcard in this mofo is using the 19th on TY simp, let him learn at his own pace and flip BY for a mid pick or just ride him for the whole 5th year. Now you have a low cap hit young QB that's been learning for 2 years and you got him for the next 3 if he's the guy.....why not!?!?!!?
    • Mike Kaye replying to above post: ”If he plays well next year, they will almost certainly restructure to open up cap and push down the cap number. His contract becomes guaranteed for Year 3 early in Year 2 unless he essentially bombs. I think 3 years, $90 million is the deal, which will almost certainly be reworked if successful. If it doesn’t, pretty notable gamble (let’s not kid glove this).  As with any deal there is nuance.” https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2033246139026174146?s=46
