Darnold part of the draft day strategy

They saw a year of Teddy and decided they didn’t like what they saw. That’s entirely different from replacing a guy you gave up a notable haul for before he ever plays a snap.

The Panthers aren’t drafting a QB at 8. Move on.

The Jets are moving on after 3 years with Sam after trading up for him and we only used 1 2nd rounder and we wouldn't move on until next year anyways. That just gives the rookie more time and Sam time to prove he is worth keeping next year. Best case we could leverage a QB next year for the price of Sam and keep the better one, worst case we dump the worst one and hopefully have a QB worth starting in 2022.

The real problem is one will not be available at #8.

It’s not happening. It’s a bad idea anyways. Drafting a QB at 8 with the idea that you might dump him the next year if Darnold actually looks good is an awful, awful plan.
