Just kidding, were getting close on d. 

Still think we need another impact LB, a true three tech beside derrick and backup safeties behind burris and chinn. 

 

However on O we need a TE1, a RB2, LT1, a slot WR, a OG2, and a longterm replacement for Paradis. Also, we need a QB2, maybe QB1 if Darnold doesnt pan out.

I actually have high hopes for Arnold. I think he has the tools to be a solid weapon for us moving forward. WR3 maybe but we'll see. We didn't have one before last season even with the same guy on the roster the season's before so who knows? LT1 I would think yeah, OG2 I see more as a maybe. I'm not blowing off our newest OL just yet. Let's see how they fit in our system before judging. We did grab them quickly so maybe there's something there that we haven't seen yet because they've been used incorrectly? IDK. Let's see before deciding

Lol, I feel ya there but we brought in 2 solid LBs in the off season. The one with ties to Rhule has the potential to be great. 12 sacks??!!! I know he's a tweener but that what we want. I think this defense is going to be super fast, creative and coming at the offenses in every which way. Getting a shutdown corner last night just opened the can of whoop ass on our opponents. 

We're playing mathball now. I know the movie was called moneyball but just because mathball doesn't sound cool but in reality that's what it is. We're projecting numbers. Those numbers equal results. X=4x5.7, Y=27:5.6. X+Y= Victory Folks! Doesn't matter how you get to the numbers, as long as you get to the numbers. We are becoming the Revenge of the Nerds.

      I agree. I’d make the move because I don’t see us sniffing the playoffs and let’s be honest TMac, Legette and Coker better be our top 3 future. If they aren’t and we need Thielen to replace one of them, then we need to draft yet another 1st round WR, SMH. Suffice it to say, Thielen isn’t good enough to get us into the playoffs so let’s get the young guys starting so we know if they aren’t good enough. We still have so many assumptions about whether players are who we need them to be that holding onto Thielen for 3-7 wins isn’t worth passing on a mid round pick (3rd to 5th/swaps). We’ve had some success with later round picks/UDFAs and need depth.

      If you move Thielen I think you almost have to keep Renfrow. You need some sort of veteran presence in the locker room and Renfrow would be good insurance in the slot. I'm sure we have Coker penciled in to start there but you also have to be keeping Coker in the back of your head as XL insurance on the outside if he doesn't step up. If he flounders again, I wouldn't wait too awfully long to replace him with Coker outside and slide Renfrow into the slot and keep it moving.

      Playing the same role is different than having the same style.  Cam Newton and Drew Brees both played QB but arent the same type in any way.
