Outside of that one game against a faded Fitz, Shaq has been decent at best in coverage. He's definitely been a disappointment in that department having come into the league billed as a S/LB hybrid. Unfortunately, he is.  He covers like a LB and run supports like a safety. He's not a bad player by any means, but he's not a guy you pay. You pay Bradberry and let Shaq walk. Just IMO.

I member you and I being team bradberry, agree the wrong one was chosen, but we dont have all the facts. I know when Rhule and crew got here they wanted CBs with a heavy track background, bradberry was never a speed demon. LG, I will say this- I think by this seasons end you will come around on thinking Shaq is better than average.

Shaq was a first round draft pick, 25th over all pick.  Maybe we've been spoiled by our linebacker play over the years,  but we expected Shaq to dominate.  He consistently has played in the shadow of Luke and TD,  not breaking out unto his own as a starter.

Last year I didn't see him playing better than when Luke and TD were here.

Lets hope we see a newer more dominate player in Shaq and all the linebackers this coming season.

Shaq hasn't made it as a pro bowl player.  Yeah, ya kinda expect somewhere along the line , your first round draft pick to be one of the best.  Oh, we've had first round bust.  And Shaq is NOT a first round bust by any means.

Right or wrong ,  some have expected more from him.

Yea he landed on a team with short but rich LB history. FYI that draft class was the worse one in the last 10 ten years. He did not get much help last yr, if any outside Burns and Brown. I think he breaks out form the bad take huddle opinion this up coming season, well those who are willing to admit when it happens. For that class being the worst one in 10 years, I think he has played well compared to his 25th pick status. They added some beef in Nixon, Jones, Fox, and hoskins. Plus perryman allows Shaq to play SLB more, I think thats his best spot.

    • I'm happy with TMac, but Tyler Warren was last season's Tyler Linderbaum for me in that he was at a position that wasn't one of the five pillars but he was the best player at his position AND one of the top talents in the draft. I cannot fuging wait for the Panthers to start winning again so that those guys fall to us like they seem to for teams like Baltimore & Philadelphia.
    • Still working on consuming all of these so I don't have summaries available, but I figured there might be another Huddler or three trying to kill time before tonight's final preseason game.   Panthers Blueprint: Training Camp The in-house produced Blueprint series has given behind-the-scenes look on the field and off. Start the day with Robert Hunt's family, be in the morning meetings, mic'd up players during practice (Jaycee, Rozeboom, Icky, and Bryce), roster evaluations by the staff, and plenty of camp highlights capping off with FanFest.   Processing Blue (Mike Kaye & Alex Zietlow Mike and Alex are back talking about a variety of topics including but not limited to: joint practice + preseason game vs. Houston, Trey Hendrickson trade rumors involving Carolina, training camp awards, draft pick draft, and various thoughts about the team.   Jordan & Jake 706: Opening Day Another in-house Panthers' production, the most recent episode of Jordan and Jake talk about how to properly balance intensity in practice, react to the starters being shutdown for the preseason finale, share their thoughts on the newest Panther QB, and more.   Raw Room - Ep 278 - Gas Pedal (ft. Mike Davis) Assistant special teams' coach Darren Bates' Raw Room podcast has former Panthers' RB Mike Davis on his weekly podcast. I'm about halfway through this one and it's been a lot of fun. The Raw Room guys (DB, his friend Alex Sweets, former Eagles/Chargers OT King Dunlap, and former Atlanta DB Jalen Collins) are hilarious and Mike fits right in. They talk about his football experience coming up, decommitting from Florida and how he decided on South Carolina, and more. Warning: If you're the type of person that is easily distracted by accents, despite XL being on the team, you might have issues with understanding the Memphis dialect. If you don't care about how somebody talks, just what they're talking about, tune in!
    • Allen was borderline unplayable in College.  He's an absolute unicorn in terms of his career panning out the way it has.
