The poll on NFL Network..

The Question

Recommended Posts

Was asking who would win tonight..it had upwards of 15,000 votes and was a 50% split down the middle..This team is extremely close on paper, but honestly no kool-aid involved, our team is much, much more talented than the Dolphins..Not only is this game a must win for playoff hopes, but if we do lose..

It shows that this team is not where it could be with the players we have, and that our problems are purely from the people with headsets and polo's and now the guys with helmets and pads. This is a prove how good we actually are game, and Fox is to blame if we don't come out with a win. Agree? Disagree?

Also, anyone notice when they let Jake actually call the plays he likes he looks like a stellar quarterback? Hmm..Davidson, get your poo straight, call plays that our players like, man.

Definitely agree about the paly calling. That, more than Jake, has been holding this offense back. Like a lot of the people have said here before, we can predict the plays just watching TV. So you can bet the teams watching hours of game film and game planning for us have a pretty good idea whats coming. Can't expect the offense to be successful when the opposing defense knows whats coming 90% of the time. 90% may be exaggerating but we have been way too predictable.

I know that this won't happen for many reasons, but I think it would be awesome to see us run the wildcat successfully on the Dolphins.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm tired of hearing about the wildcat every time I watch football, so if I have to hear it, I would love to just hear how the Panthers ran wildcat all night over the Dolphins, and then to continue to do that in every game thereafter.

So you are telling me that before 90% of the offensive plays the Panthers have you know exactly whats coming? 3 step drop Moose on a quick hitch Smith on a 10 yd post, Dwill to the left flats, Fiammetta pass protection, and King on a seam route. Dwill to the left off the outside leg of the guard with Kalil helping on the nose and releasing to the second level asap and Fiammetta taking first face all other lineman zone to the left. etc.

Or do you just know that it is going to be a run or a pass? Cause it isn't too damn hard to figure that poo out for any team. There are only 2 options. If you know exactly what 90% of the plays called are and were they are going you should re-think your career path.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
