Don’t get me wrong, we are getting outplayed…

But one team has shot 13 free throws and the other has shot 2 and it’s not for lack of trying on the Hornets end. They are knotted at 24 with the Hawks in points in the pant… just not getting the same whistles.

As a coach I don’t see how you can sit on your ass and not get that tech to try and reverse the course.

Atlanta is shooting 55% and 41% from 3.  We can't beat that team while we're shooting 37% and 26%, despite the fact we're have 29 rebounds to their 19.

Let's hope when we flip the floor, our shots start going in.

The rebounds are the great equalizer, even though we’re shouting 37% we’ve attempted 54 field goals compared to the Hawks 38. If just 6 of those rebounds resulted in a made two point shot we’d be tied despite only shooting an updated field goal percentage of 48%.

Even if we continue to miss, knocking down some second chance opportunities should allow us to get back in the game. We also have to find a way to get to the free throw line.

On the defensive side we just aren’t active enough, the Hawks have had too many open shots. If we can get the Hawks field goal percentage down to around 50% we’ll have a good chance at coming away with a win.

Yeah, JB should be fussing at the refs. Then again, he didn't Weds night either.

Good God… sit Terry.

That’s three or four bunnies that he’s missed that a player like Ish Smith might make tonight.

Sometimes you have to realize that a guy doesn’t have it on a certain night.

Yep. Terry had found his shot and over the last couple games lost it again.

    • Ehlers needs to sit. Definitely can't lose him to a meaningless game.
    • Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying
    • I don't think it's at all a given that we have players who are good at driving the basket. I guess that depends on your definition. Bridges is 43rd in attempts in the paint Miller is 64th and LaMelo is 66th. We all love to see the lob threat but it's largely miniscule at this point in time. There's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who consistently can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
