Special teams play

Yeah Crossman sucks and we've known it for a long time.

The D did let us down this game, but really I can't blame them with the position that our retarded offense and even worse special teams kept putting them in.

Miami seemed to be at midfield after every punt. any above average team is gonna score something with only 50 yards to go

Yeah, I just don't understand how Crossman still has a job.

On a positive note, Tyrell Sutton didn't look as terrible a kick returner as many have. Perhaps there's something there (but we've said the same thing about how many people this season?).

 I can't see how fox even has a job. We lost to the ****** bills. Where as the bills Just fired their freaking HC who beat us a few games ago. Tell me which owner is smarter at this point. The bills owner is. If JR does not fire Fox and the rest of his staff at season end. Then I will be freaking amazed.

I want to see some STOMP ASS, MOUTH BUSTING, BUTT WHOPPING football. I can't wait till next year when we have a team that will produce such.

it could happen. we're very similar to the vikings as a team from 2008... one good quarterback away from being a serious, serious threat. if we can lock down a new quarterback in the offseason and make some kind of change on offense - either get rid of davidson, or fox, or both - we will be stomping ass for four quarters.

I agree that we're a quarterback away from being a playoff contender, but our defense pales in comparison to the Vikings.

true story... though i'd love to see the defense, gelled as it is now, without injuries. kemo and davis still in the lineup... i bet we'd see a much stouter unit.

that said, i agree: we'll need to pick up some DL improvements to get where we need to be.

:banghead: Plus we need to have 2 good WR to help Smith aswell. We need a number 2 and 3 WR who can catch the freaking ball.:out:

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
