We have a BRUTAL front loaded schedule with 4 road trips and our 2 West Coast trips.. we already took our 1st WC trip and that didn't go great, to say the least.. these next 2 mini-trips are down the East Coast and in the Midwest.. then we quickly pack it up and ship it out West again..

if we are hovering around .500 by Christmas - I will view it as a huge win.. Then we have the rest of the calendar to feast at home, a lot.. we won't have more than 2 consecutive away games until April..

if we win tomorrow - we will be exactly at .500

I said that before we got hit with Covid.. Wow.. that's great - but now the expectations in the 2nd half are increased.. no more moral victories - I want W's and to hop into the top 4-6 seed

let's go..

a good look at how the rest of the schedule shapes up...and it's good.

https://www.atthehive.com/2021/12/25/22853813/charlotte-hornets-schedule-have-positioned-themselves-well-for-the-rest-of-the-season?utm_campaign=atthehive&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter

We’ve talked about the Charlotte Hornets schedule a few times in this space already, and we’re going to do it one more time now that we’ve hit the turning point. The Hornets just wrapped up their longest road trip of the season, a six game gauntlet meandering through the valleys and mountains of the Western Conference. They capped it off with a win in Denver over the reigning MVP and the Denver Nuggets. They got to ride those good times all the way home and are now in the middle of three days of rest in Charlotte. The respite must be nice.

The Hornets sit 17-17 at this juncture. On the surface, that doesn’t inspire much reaction. It’s literally as mediocre as it gets. But the Hornets have done very well to get there. The Hornets have played 34 games now. Despite being at the tail end of a period where they only played one game in six days, there is still only one team in the NBA that has played more games—the Milwaukee Bucks. 22 of those 34 games have been away from the friendly confines of Spectrum Center. No other team in the league has played more than 20 road games. 12 of those 22 road games have been against the Western Conference, where the Hornets have struggled historically. On the other side of that, no team has played as few home games as the Hornets.

With all that out of the way, the Hornets are positioned to make a post-Christmas run. They only have three road games left against the Western Conference. Those games are at the Timberwolves, Thunder, and Pelicans. None of those are west of the central time zone and none of those are particularly good basketball teams. The Hornets last 48 games favor a 29-19 home-road split and there will be plenty of days of rest scattered throughou

It’s not only the travel schedule that favors the Hornets going forward. They face the fourth easiest schedule the rest of the way based on current win percentages. They have 11 games left against the bottom five teams in the league.

    • Great point.    I would lke to add that there is another QB on the roster who was terrible over the middle--Kenny Pickett.
    • I don't think this is the year for Carolina, unfortunately.  I think they will have to make a decision on the QB position-all we know is that Bryce has year 5, but a long term deal has not been signed--yet--and they would be smart to take a "wait and see" approach.  I have not kept up, and I see a path to upside for Bryce, but I do not think we have aggressively pursued a QB when our QB was mediocre to worse than mediocre.  yes, his numbers are improving--but he has adapted by eliminating what he does poorly and not improving on what he does poorly.  Just my take and I have no data to support this view.   Basically, we go as Bryce goes, so the approach is not to bring in a QB to have him compete until we find one, but it is to make Bryce as good as he can be--is that good enough? Season ticket holders buy the hope of winning rings, not winning 8 games. Last year, Bryce had a resurgence.  Take away TMac and Rico Dowdle.  How good was he?  I still have hope.  Not a hater of plan A, but a hater because we have no plan B.
    • Yeah man, I've been here for a very very long time. Couldn't even begin to tell you what year. Maybe 2004 or 5? I've never really been super active, just enjoy reading everyone's opinions and discussions. I'll chime in from time to time. I have had a few different accounts over the years. It's always been a fun place for me to check in on my favorite team. Hopefully we can keep the place running for a long while still. I also would like to recommend bringing back the Lovely Ladies page!
