That article didn't say Fit was a paper pusher or had no input  like you categorize the situation..

They make trades like Seattle does and where does Fit come from?? And that's not a clear sign of a GM with some control..

He has final say. That's what the article from the Panthers' official website confirmed which is what I've said. Fitts has influence but control is on paper and the paper says Rhule.

They didn't have final say on rosters. Rivera doesn't in Washington now either. Most NFL coaches don't. That's why it was such a big deal and so surprising for a first time NFL HC with minimal NFL experience to get it right out of the gate.

They didn't have roster control. Ron still doesn't. You being mad doesn't change that. This is gonna go the same way as when you asked specifically who would make a move like benching D-Jax today and I pointed out Belichick benching Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl and you ghosted on that conversation. 😂

Ron for years thought that Secondary player could be found and wanted most of his players in the front 7.. How many years in Ron's tenure did we spend high draft picks on Secondary players??

Fox wanted Veteran QB.. We never drafted a QB high when Fox was here..

Please show what proof you had that Fox nor Ron had final say on the roster??

1 coach in nfl history and he benched him for off the field poo not on the field and lost that Superbowl and still blame for it to this day..

You asked for an example. I gave you one. It just so happened to be arguably the greatest coach ever.

You gave me 1 that had nothing to do with on the field play.. Good for you.. But reality is that doesn't fit the actual question..

Who benches their number 1 cb after 1 bad half of football..

Not 1 bad night at the bar and missing practice during Superbowl week.

Marty always had final roster say under JR, even when he was brought back as im"interim" GM.

I’m sorry I don’t subscribe to the observer.

But this is complete BS… Marty drafted to whatever coaches team philosophy… Fox and Ron had way different Philosophies and that’s why you can see the differences in the type of players Fox wanted and The type of players Ron wanted… If Marty had final say the team would’ve been the Same type for the 10 years Marty was here..

example…

Fox would have never drafted Cam..

Sums it up perfectly. "I can't read what you linked, but since it doesn't fit what I want to believe it's complete BS." 😂

Well open the link so non subscriber can read it..

but if this is your game … You pretty much are saying Marty Hurney is a good GM who built 2 Super Bowl rosters under 2 different coaches philosophies on his own player evaluation skills..

I’m a Marty defender and wouldn’t say that…

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
