12/11 Game Thread, Canes @ Oilers Puck Drop 10PM EDT

Yikes by Jarvis there, first a blind pass out of the zone then a brutal turnover, can’t do that with McDavid on the ice.

Have to get pucks in deep against Edmonton or else McDavid, Drai, and co. will murder us.

I’m surprised but also like having Jarvis on McDavid. It’s like, “you wanna be here?, here you go.”

Probably would do a little bit better at not letting Edmonton roll out McDavid against our fourth line.

It’s going to be interesting to see what they do with Chatfield. He seems to be a solid 5/6 defenseman and I think I would prefer him as the 7D over Smith. I also am not 100% sure Chatfield would clear waivers, I think a team might snag him.

Wonder if the Canes could flip Smith for a 7th round pick.

Smith is a bruiser. That’s the reason we are keeping him as 7. We’ll need him down the home stretch when we really get into division match’s.

I can see that, this team lacks some sandpaper. I can’t wait until Nikishin is ready to make the jump from the KHL.

That was a hell of a shot by Nino.
