We have a lot of talent on this team, both in vets and rookies/young players.

Coaching and schemes just aren't making good use of them. That has become apparent throughout the year. The materials are there, what we are lacking is the knowledge of how to turn them into a professional team. 

Look at CMC. Rivera could use him all over the field. Yes, he has been injured each year, but even when he was on the field, we saw poor usage of him. If it wasn't a called run up the middle, he was always the second or third option (always the safety outlet) which meant there were no blocking schemes set up in front of him. Really no wonder the lower output and injuries when you consider this.

DJ Moore suffers from a similar problem -- he is sent out on a stringer by himself, hopefully to catch a pass in triple coverage and "make something happen" rather than scheming routes to get him some picks. Sheesh, how about even a frikkin' slant route for the guy? It's like all that planning goes to trying the make Robby Anderson a star player, something he certainly isn't.

On Gilmore and Henderson, we have some strength there as our #2 and #3 DBs, particularly if Jaycee Horn comes back and plays with the same quality as before. Gilmore and Henderson can really shut down the secondary targets, allowing Horn and a safety to nullify the #1 WR.

Oh, frik it. Who cares? We're going to have to sit through a couple more games of this at the least, but most likely another season beyond that. fug this.

Hartsfield played lights out Sunday and seems to be settling into a role in the secondary playing the nickel position and at times, a third safety.  He was targeted 5 times and surrendered 15 yards for a QB rating against rating of 64.6. 

 

 

 

 

Uh...he let someone spin him around and did not tackle a RB running in for a TD. The dude is ass water.

      I believe I just read somewhere that the Rams don't do Top 30 Visits. I mean, it makes sense from the standpoint of trying to keep information close to the vest.

      I'm not sure 19 is too high for Rodriguez anymore.  He looks to be moving up boards, but it could be smokescreens.

      I see XL this way---great athlete.  Good person.  When we drafted him, we knew he was raw.  One year of WR in college (starting) and in HS, he was a QB, I believe. We knew we would need patience with him.  I think year 3 will be make or break.  He is older, and I think that people with his athletic ability have always been better than those with less---but those with less can become more successful.  Why is that?  in my view, it is mental. XL can learn the mechanics and nuances of playing WR if he becomes focused on it and works at it.  I had the opportunity to talk to Armanti Edwards one day after OTAs (great guy) and he discussed how overwhelming it was.  He seemed shocked.  At that time, I knew that Fox hated the pick (I heard him mock Armanti to another coach when he saw Edwards drop a punt from a jugs machine--then I saw Armanti look back at Fox as if to suggest that he was feeling the pressure to please the coach. We forget that these are kids in their early 20s.  At the time, Fox was a lame duck.  Remember when he had Clausen as the #3 QB and was forced to move him up the ladder?  I liked Fox, but I think the climate and culture was influenced by the politics.  Currently, I see another Wr from SC who is struggling, but he is ina  very nurturing, positive culture. Let's see what happens with XL.  I am frustrated too---but XL was a second round talent who was raw and we traded up to get him.  He had 500 yards as a rookie--lets call 2025 a sophomore slump and see if we can't get at least 50 yards per game out of him.  If not, cut bait.
