How's it going?

After finishing NG+, leveling up tons of weapons to try different things, doing some things I didn't do 1st game, etc... I think I've had my fill for now.  Ended around level 270-280 or something.  Ended up staying sword and shield for the most part, but leveled up faith, arcane, and int to the extent of being able to equip basically any weapon and playing around with incantations and spells.  Looked something like this (sorry from memory)

vit :~50-60

End: ~50-55

Mind: ~20-25

Str: 60

Dex: 60

Faith: 30-35

Int: 35-40'ish(?)

Arcane: 23 I believe

The bloodhound sword is still a beast.  I boosted a LOT of weapons to +9/+24 and the scaling for dex/str (+ bonus of bleed) makes its damage one of the best.  However, I found that the The Blasphemous Blade is my go to for exploring where bleed isn't as big a deal.  The HP vamp is actually legit and it hits harder than bloodhound at base.

My biggest pet peeves/areas that I absolutely hated:

Castle Sol - the screaming guys, the knights, the boss, ugh.

The Halingtree -  All of it.  That place is absolute hell to navigate through.  I first tried it on NG+.  Not sure if it's significantly easier regular, but I bet it's not.

Ordina, Liturgical Town - As a sword n shield player, having to use a slot for a torch just ruined my whole playstyle.  Then add in the archers.  The assassins.  I hated this place.

Zamor Ruins - The "knights" there are brutal and they gang up on you.

Elden Beast - sorry, running around a huge map to catch him is just frustrating.  Beat him twice, so I did my part 🙂

Other than that, really enjoyed the rides and glad I was able to beat even NG+.  We'll see if I circle back around for a NG++.  If you guys want me to test level any weapons or such and let you know the stats/feedback, let me know.

Had to take a break because I gashed my finger and had to get stitches, back playing now, level 124 killed the fire giant and lord of blood tonight.

Still finishing up LOLs area and have gotten through Caleid quite bit as well.  This first play though is taking awhile with work demands lately but in no hurry.  Love this game.

I have a really good weapon of every type but just keep coming back to my Longsword for most anything.  Ole faithful never lets me down

Beat it, the final boss is a pain in the ass, that put me off from playing a ng+ right now. Im going to play something else in between it.

Yeah the Elden beast fight was probably my least favorite fight in the whole game from a mechanics standpoint. It was very cool looking but super fuging obnoxious having to chase tha dumb fuging thing around the void. Wearing holy resist gear and using holy buffs makes the fight pretty trivial though, FYI.

I used my regular tactics with my mimic tear. I just didnt melee the elden beast part of the fight much, just kept my mimic healed and hit him with black flame.

It was just a terrible boss to end the game with.

buy the lantern you put on your belt.

The lantern doesn't reveal invisible enemies. The sentry torch does. He's talking about the evergoal puzzle that's annoying as fug with invisible assassins and asshole sniper archers that unlocks the portal to the haligtree.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
