Is the game blacked out or is it just delayed?

ESPN+ says blacked out in my area, youtubetv is showing some tiktok show

Shouldn’t be blacked out unless you are in one of the restricted areas in NC, in that case it should come on a local channel.

With that said, we are in a lengthy delay with no end in sight yet.

Orlando City recently had a game against Inter Miami that didn’t start until around 9:45PM due to a weather delay.

No intel here but I suspect if they can’t start tonight’s game by 10:00PM then it’ll be postponed.

So here’s where we are. Looking at the radar, it looks like everything will switch over to rain at around 9:30.

Still delayed…

I get fans are upset because they are stuck at the stadium but the MLS does not like to postpone matches unless they have to. Unless the radar pushes this game back to a start time of 10:30 or later, I’d expect the game to take place.

I live in Mooresville and not a drop has fallen. These storms have been weird this summer

Interesting, looks like it’s still coming down at the stadium but the nasty stuff looks to be clearing the area. I think we should be good by 10:00PM.

Looks like they’ll be in the clear soon. Most recent lightning strike was 6.45 miles away from Charlotte, they use an 8 mile radius for player safety so we are nearly there.

You’ll get a nice little storm when the games on. Haven’t seen a lighting strike detected in the past 15 minutes so if all holds clear maybe a 10:15PM start with the game ending right around 12:30AM

As I say this another strike was just detected at 7.79 miles away. So that pushes the start time back to around 10:30PM or so I would think. I’m thinking if there’s another strike then this one will be postponed.

You hardly ever see the MLS postpone a game but I think rule of thumb is they like to have the games finished by 1AM at the latest. A 10:30PM start time is about as late as they could go.

One nice thing about the late start is Charlotte is going to know exactly where they’ll stand in the next 20 minutes pending results from other games.
