How about some Offense?

We all have our coaching wishes for 2010, and to tell you the truth, I will take any of them that lead this team into the endzone. I want an offensive-minded head coach this time. Defense is nice to have, but at the end of the day, if you can't score, its hard to win. So I welcome all the coaching options that will improve this team in this area. Any coach that doesn't call a draw on 3rd and 12 will do.

Well I will let you guess who my pick is. The fact that the NFL has become the OFL or Offense Football league means you need a good OC or a Good coach who is also an good OC. Defense dose not always win champ any more.

Being one dimensional will not win anymore. Good defense is still extremely beneficial to winning championships.

With the rules in place every defense in the league has one hand tied around its back. A alright D will win a championship this day and age. The Colts have proven that. Even the Steelers suck when Rothisberger is not there to push there Offense out of mediocrity.

Again, a good D is always good to have, but if your offense sucks, you can't win. We dont need the Steelers D. We need a D good enough to win, which we have (with a healthy lineup). If im running this team, the entire offensive staff gets a shaking up. Along with the HC.

Great D's will win you Super Bowls.

Great O's will get you into the playoffs every year.

I will take getting there and having a chance every year, rather than having a stout D.

Top 5 teams in the NFL have decent D's except for Minny, and theirs is just good. All of them have great O's though.

I've got a suggestion:

1 - Run till they got you at a 3rd and +15, then throw.

2 - In the 4th Quarter, go for it on 4th downs if it's on their side of the field.

3 - Do more plays designed to confuse defenses, like options and such. A wildcat here and there wouldn't hurt either. Hell, the Panthers invented the fugin' play.

4 - STATS MAY BE FOR LOSERS, BUT THERE'S A POINT WHERE YOU HAVE TO TAKE A STEP BACK AND LOOK AT THE NUMBERS (42 ATTEMPTS????)

I don't consider the Colts, Patriots, and Saints to have 'great' defenses. their defenses are good enough to win. they make plays when necessary. They are where they are because of their offense.

    • There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster  2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive  4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”
    • If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time.  What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez,  CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).
