(Will you make other changes to the starting lineup?): We have that right every week.

(Do you foresee any?): I don’t try to foresee, just evaluate.

Isn't that what got us into this mess?

(Do you anticipate you’ll have an announcement Wednesday about who will start at quarterback vs. Tampa Bay?): We’ll have to wait and see what Wednesday brings. I mean, today is Monday. I hope I’m here Wednesday. I hope you are, too.

Wednesday? We talkin' 'bout Wednesday? Wednesday?

If Fox is gone next year I'll surely miss his press conferences.

(Will you make other changes to the starting lineup?): We have that right every week.

(Do you foresee any?): I don’t try to foresee, just evaluate.

(Specifically, what finger is it?): It’s a right hand finger. That would not be the thumb.

(Do you not want to say what finger you’re dealing with?): No, because we don’t have to.

(Why do you believe you've continually had difficulty getting Steve Smith involved? He had one catch for 5 yards.): He had one in the end zone I remember.

(Did you think it was a touchdown?): Obviously, it wasn’t.

(Do you anticipate you’ll have an announcement Wednesday about who will start at quarterback vs. Tampa Bay?): We’ll have to wait and see what Wednesday brings. I mean, today is Monday. I hope I’m here Wednesday. I hope you are, too.

 Hate the man all you want but he's brilliant with the press.

Sounds like he doesn't have his story straight and doesn't want to end up with his foot in his mouth.

I really think Fox may be mentally ill.

I understand a certain amount of discretion, but why wouldn't you say which finger was broken? Why wouldn't you say what's wrong with Peppers hand?

I would think the league would frown on coaches being so smug and belligerent with the media (and by extension the fans). The league requires coaches and players to make themselves available for the media, wouldn't you also think the league would monitor the conduct of coaches and players during their interactions with the media?

Not to get political, but Fox reminds me of Cheney and Rumsfeld... he honestly doesn't think it's any of our damn business.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
