Coery Williams wants out of Cleveland's 3-4

He wants to be an interior lineman. Thoughts?

"I know I could turn some heads inside," Williams said. "That's what I do. That's who I am. I know I could go anywhere and start. I just love being down on the inside because stuff happens more quickly. Out there on that end, stuff happens slow and I don't like that."

The Cleveland Plain-Dealer suggests Williams could ask for a trade, but that may not be easy for the Browns to pull off considering his salary. His play in 2008 wasn't much better than this year.

"I haven't been happy about it since day one," Williams said, regarding his playing time. "I'm not going to go all the way into it about how I feel about it, but I haven't been happy at all."

Could cut Kemo and Hayden to make room. Maybe even Lewis or Thomas as well (or cut both if they want to just keep 4). Then we'll have Williams, Leonard, Tyler, and Irvin next season. Then either Lewis or Thomas depending who they want and if they want to keep 5 DTs. Sounds good to me.

Unless Kemo, or us are EXTREMELY lucky, we can't line our ducks up counting on him considering the type of injury he had, and what he weighs.

VERY unlikely to return to being productive, but not entirely impossible. I wouldn't want to be the one betting on the positive outcome of it though.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
