Love really should transfer. He's not developing here and overall I think he's holding the team back. He needs to play for a coach that will help him play within himself and help him with his own court decision making. Hubert's no consequences, constant green light coaching style is not what Caleb Love needs.

Let’s face it, UNC was a marginal team last year who went on an incredible run and got hot at the end of the year.  This year they played like they did for the first 20 games last year.  But bringing back a veteran team should have been enough to win a weak Acc this year and there is no excuse for not making the ncaa tournament.  Spin it any way you want but UNC sh*t the bed this year big time.  Is it coaching or continuity? Who knows but they were a ncaa team at the beginning of the season regardless and this is unacceptable.

I read somewhere that Bacot has another year of eligibility due to COV-ID if he wants it.  Not sure if thats true.  Agree Love should move on

He does. I'm hoping he comes back. We actually have a really good pass first PG coming next year. I wanna see Bacot play a year of college ball with a guy like that.

How does that help UNC?

Bacot hitting the portal would NOT help UNC. I think there's virtually zero chance of that happening. That dude bleeds Carolina blue. I think he's going to look at his pro prospects and realize that making $1M+ in NIL money in Chapel Hill and a pass first PG coming in next year's class is his best bet, both in the short and long term.

That was my point exactly

If it wasn't for that fluke tourney run last year Hubert would be fired.

Since you guys feel CHD should be fired after two seasons, one that included a NCAA Championship game appearance, allow me to retort. After falling to 6-6 in his 4th season at UNC Dean Smith was hung in effigy. Billy Cunningham said, "I remember the team was just very hurt by this because we realized it wasn't Coach Smith's fault," Cunningham will recall. "It was our fault. It was the players' fault. Its always the players' fault."

This is the same team that participated in a mutiny against Roy and helped his decision to hang it up two years ago. It has been documented that Love, Davis, Black, Bacot have issues with each other, don't play the way they practice, don't talk on defense, take plays off, and aren't great shooters. Hubert took those same kids, minus two future 1st round post players, to the NCAA championship. For reasons you two will never admit or elaborate on, you just plain flat out do not like Davis. He shouldn't be replaced because of what he accomplished with this particular team last March, and fluke or not it happened. It is great that neither of you call the shots because how asinine would it be to fire the coach of the number one recruiting class a year before it got to campus. Your big Choices are out there post had a picture of Jerry Stackhouse! Dude Stack was about to get fired until they beat Kentucky and they still didn't qualify for the NCAAT. With what Hubert did with these players that were headaches, he should be commended and those results should point to positivity and excitement about the future. I am confident Davis will win once he gets his players in for a few years and gets these class of 19-20 kids completely out the door as they have been problems since their freshman year.

    • You're not understanding what I'm saying. I'm saying that truly elite players will always have a market because they're elite difference makers and that at the "devalued positions" the NFL has discovered that those are spots where unless you have an elite talent there you have an opportunity to get similar results out of run of the mill talent for run of the mill money compared to good talent for good money. The drop off in overall unit performance isn't dramatic dropping down from "good" to "JAG" and it saves money to invest in the premium positions. It's about skill sets and what is hardest to find, simple supply and demand. There's just more serviceable LBs and RBs and safeties out there than their are CBs and pass rushers and QBs. And honestly, a big part of our historic lack of consistent success has been investing too many premium draft and cap resources into those devalued positions. Yeah, we've had a lot of great off the ball LBs and RBs on our way to be a franchise with an overall losing record. Pointing to our success at those positions is proving my point because I just point to our W-L record and overall lack of historical quality at premium positions like QB, WR, CB, etc. We've sucked in large part because we've valued the wrong position groups. In a vacuum it doesn't matter. But in actuality every high pick or big chunk of cap you spend on an off the ball LB or RB or IOL is a high pick or big chunk of cap you couldn't spend on a QB or CB or WR or OT.
    • Right before Kuechly retired, we had some of the worst D line play that year.  We were ranked 29th against the run in 2019.   I remember even Kuechly struggled to get off the blocks at times because the linemen were on second level so quickly due to our porous line made up of Kyle Love, Vernon Butler and a washed up Gerald McCoy.
    • fingers crossed for BlueSky embeds to come with the board update at least all the schedule reveals will be on the youtube
