Last Time Out: Beginning a six-game stretch on the road Tuesday night in the Steel City, the Canes started their venture on the right foot. An early goal from Sidney Crosby put Carolina behind early, but middle period tallies from Martin Necas and Andrei Svechnikov flipped the game around. In the third it looked like the visitors would be able to ride out the game with the same 2-1 score, but Pittsburgh found success with the extra attacker on. Heading to overtime for the fifth time in their last seven games, Brett Pesce then put home a two-on-none with Andrei Svechnikov to give his team the win.

Big Time Brett: Tuesday's game-winning goal for Brett Pesce was his second in as many contests. Saturday afternoon at PNC Arena he scored a late power play goal, advancing Carolina past the Calgary Flames. #22 now has a three-game point streak, totaling four points on the run.

Heating Up: Speaking of three-game point streaks, Seth Jarvis, Stefan Noesen and Andrei Svechnikov all also join Pesce with at least one point in three consecutive contests.

Volume Shooting: The Hurricanes outshot the Penguins 39-32 on Tuesday, and they have now outshot their opponents in 19 of 23 games in 2022-23, including all 12 of their wins. Carolina has registered 35 or more shots in 13 games this season, tied for the third-most such outings of any NHL team behind only NJD and FLA (both with 17).

Small Movement: Wednesday afternoon the Canes acquired defenseman Zack Hayes from the Vegas Golden Knights. The 23-year-old was assigned to Chicago (AHL) after being acquired with hopes of assisting a young Wolves blue line. Brock Sheahan's squad is 5-9-2 to start the season, seventh in the Central Division.

Almost Turbo Time?: Forward Teuvo Teravainen traveled with the team to begin the first leg of their six-game road stint, inching closer to returning to the lineup. The 28-year-old winger suffered a non-concussion upper-body injury on November 10 in the team's win over Edmonton. After skating with Max Pacioretty prior to the team's practice last week, Teravainen returned to team practice Monday morning in a yellow non-contract jersey,  took part in Tuesday's morning skate and practiced again on Wednesday. Rod Brind'Amour has said that he is hopeful #86 can play at some point on this trip.

On The Other Side: After an eight-game losing streak in October into November, the Blues responded with a seven-game win streak to come back to earth. Since the run (which has since ended) started on November 10, St. Louis has scored 39 goals, tied for third-most in the NHL. What's marveling is that their 68% penalty kill during that time is 28th in the league. Jordan Kyrou has led the offense since the second week in November, publishing 14 points in 11 games.

Forwards:

Jarvis - Aho - Necas

Svechnikov - Kotkaniemi - Noesen

Martinook - Staal - Fast

Drury - Stastny - Stepan

Defense:

Slavin - Burns

Skjei - Pesce

de Haan - Chatfield

Goalies:

    • Clean ACLs really are not. He is already running on it. There are more complicated injuries where ACLs tear with other things that can cause more serious injuries. I think that’s where the confusion comes in.
    • Try to reduce the amount of soda that you consume on a daily basis. Soda is packed with sugars and carbohydrates, which can cause cause a poor reaction with your skin. Instead of soda, try drinking water or flavored water as an alternative to your meals during the day or night. Try using some kind of mist moisturizer instead of just using plain water. Plain water only hydrates your skin for a short while and will end up drying out your skin. Moisturizing your skin with a mist form of it is a lot easier to apply then a topical cream. Finding the right product for your skin type is a very important factor in making your skin look nice and healthy. If you have dry skin, you would not want to use products that were designed for oily skin. Make sure you research what the products you use are for, and your skin will thank you for it. After you take a shower or a bath or just wash your face, pat dry with a soft towel. Vigorous rubbing will damage the skin. In addition, leaving a little bit of water on your skin will help keep it from drying out and make it easier to apply an after-shower moisturizer. • I was thinking Adoree too. I don't want to fixate on one specific guy, just go get the best cost option for this year and roll with it
