Adam Shefter just reported that all roads point to Cowher here next year

Just saw it on ESPN. He states with Fox on the bubble, that Cowher is the likely replacement. With a new Team President from Wofford, Cowher daughter is a freshmen at Wofford and the fact that Richardson is a huge booster for Wofford.

Get ready Panther fans for boring Cowher football next year

Yeah I saw it to, but couldn't help but wonder why he was trying to make a connection between Cowher's daughter and our new Prez. So what if she happens to be a freshman at the same school that our new Prez came from. That is some pretty weak logic there.

What makes more sense is that we might have a head coaching vacancy, Cowher is available, and Cowher lives in NC with his family and would undoubtedly like to stay here.

I just dont wont a 3-4..keep the 4-3 and meeks

We need a change. Since losing Thomas Davis, our D has not played well at all. One thing I notice about 3-4 defenses is that losing one player does not hurt the D as bad since pressure comes in the form of blitz packages. I like Meeks, and think he has done a good job considering the number of injuries we have had, but I would like to see us move to a 3-4 and see either Peppers move to LB (with much less money) or Connor take the field as a 4th LB. With Kemo healthy, he will make a great NT.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
