For the life of me, I do not understand leaving damn near $10M on the table when it's a "use it or lose it" salary cap proposition.

The fact that we had the same opportunities to speak with every one of the players who ended up with contracts in the Eastern Division and the Canes came away with nothing bothers me to no end.

Kane, Tarasenko, Meier, Horvat, Engvall.....

Kane never wanted to be here, but the rest of the names you mentioned I am with you.

Not acquiring Meier still doesn't bother me quite as much as others because I really think you see him end up back West soon.  NJ may pay that one $10M season, but he doesn't sign there as a UFA.

Tarasenko, Horvat, hell even Nino....why didn't we get one of them?  Just insane.
