Potential Quarterbacks Available (Thought Hurney could use a Hand)

If you were wanting Thigpen your going to have to go to the spread. If your doing that you might is well get Smith as I think he has more talent passing and is faster and better when he takes off. Smith has played much more under center both in college and pros. He can come in immediately and with a few tweaks in the playcalling (nothing major) could start and win us games. I wont go as far as to say he is Franchise QB material, but bring him in along with a late round guy and let Smith, McCown, Moore, and Draftee battle it out in TC and most likely in a open competition he wins.

Croyle's not going anywhere, the Chiefs are waivering on Cassel why would they give up a solid backup? Campbell has never really impressed me. I know the out of system quotes and everything but even knowing that I don't see how people get so work up about him. In 4 years as the starter he hasn't progressed at all. I mean I know all the different systems he had but that argument works against you "If he struggles at learning new systems you want to bring him in to learn a whole new system?". I wouldn't be upset with the pickup because at least there trying but I would not be satisfied with only getting him.

Tony Pike, Dan LeFever, Ryan Mallet. At least one of those three will be available with our second round pick, and probably one will be there in the third. Take one, and let them sit behind Moore for a year. We could make the playoffs next year with Moore even if he just plays like he did last Sunday; hands off and doesn't throw interceptions. Hell, if Jake had done that this year, we'd have won the Buffalo and NYJ games at least and be 7-5 right now. I'm a big fan of LeFever personally, I don't see anyone on the FA market that's a big enough improvement on Moore to be worth the money.

Jamarcus Russell?

Seriously, though. Sage Rosenfels will be on the market, but I don't really care for him. I think draft a QB (LeFevour) and develop him for a year. A.J. Feely as a backup.

Hey a lot of really good players have looked really bad on the raiders (Moss and Brayton just to name a few). I thought Russel had bust written all over him in the draft but who knows different system he might be a decent QB. I'm sure with his talent he will get another shot somewhere.

As far as Rosenfels, for a career backup sure. I think he is an excellent backup as he is someone who can some in in a pinch and maybe win you a game or two but I just don't see him as a full-time starter.

    • Yeah, what the hell is Scott doing on that 1 play he dropped back to the 40?? There isn't 10 seconds left in the half and need to defend a hail mary...
    • Immediately cast blame? We had been talking about the bad throws to Hunter (the missed TDs and hospital ball) for days leading up to that injury report.   And yeah, the rib injury then becomes something to point out.  and you are getting desperate with this projected extremism.  No one  said you should never throw seams.  I shared with you an article after you scoffed at seams being routes you can get hung out to dry on….and it was the best of the best talking about the dangers of those routes.   And they talked about it because they threw them a lot and there dudes were at risk so the throws really matter.  Because you can hurt your receivers.  we disagree, cool.  I got a pro Bryce former NFL QB calling it a hospital ball and bad throw.  So I got a plus +1 making my argument.  Find a QB that backs your take.
    • You exclusively highlighted Hunter's name on the injury report and then immediately cast blame. I've pointed out that this wasn't the hospital ball you claim it to be while also acknowledging that there could have been another option to target instead of Renfrow. By everything you've expressed here, you don't think seam routes should ever be thrown. I don't know how that helps the already struggling offense, but I do know that it would make it even worse than it already is. Scapegoating never has and never will solve anything. Tell you what: Try not blaming Bryce or casting shade his way for the entire week after Arizona and instead look at the other 21 starters and assess what they're doing (again, without shading Bryce). I'll join you and refrain from exploring what the rest of the team is doing and will focus solely on what Bryce needs to do better. Deal? This is a sincere peace offering to allow us to explore the other's perspective and perhaps be even more informed football fans.
