53 Yard FG Miss

i've noticed that Kasay doesn't get enough lift on the ball when he kicks 50 yard field goals or more, I think he has had 3 attempts from that range blocked so far this year and I was worried the Pats would get a block and return from it. I was happy when he missed the field goal. that was the best possible result given his range and the conditions.

why you kick a fg when the best possible result is a missed fg is beyond me

That was the dumbest call ever by Fox, IMO. If there was ever a time in a game to be aggressive, that was it. Even if you go for it there and don't get it, you still put the Patriots in worse field position than you do by missing a FG, which was the lower percentage play in that weather anyway.

this team is dedicated to winning
yeah, i saw richardson call down to fox and tell him to have kasay kick it. i also saw kasay on the phone. probably talking to the big cat himself. said something about trying to lose so that they could have an easier schedule or something.

oh yeah, i think there was also some conversation about a strategy to not be as incredibly active as the cardinals were last year...you know, only re-signing 2 players to multi year deals and a few more to one year deals, bringing in only one vet who can help somewhere, creating a situation in which you could have 22 players becoming free agents the following year....yeah, that's the kind of genius the team is trying to avoid. that's what teams do who are trying to get better and are committed to winning.

No one call is ever going to make me say a coach should be fired. Its the body of work that matters to me. If he is indeed fired, it should be because of the lack of attention to the QB and Wide Receiver positions, the problems on the defensive front with stopping the run, and consistent problems over the last two-three years on special teams. And no signs of improvement in any of those areas.

But yes, it was a very bad call.

    • Sir. You have been shouting down any and all valid skepticism and criticism of our #1 overall pick for 2+ years running. You spent all last spring running cover for him and complaining about derails and toxicity only for us to open the season with back to back blowout losses largely contributed by Bryce Young's abysmal play. You have engaged in the exact same formula this spring. You've spent the last two months rage pooing my posts like an angry ten year old even while you've had me on ignore just for speaking the truth about this QB room and our offense. We opened the season with yet another blowout loss this time to a previously 4 win team. And here you are still trying to play the victim while weaponizing the reactions. Any suggestion of you being victimized by anyone else here is a complete and utter farce. You know it. I know it. Have yourself a great day.
    • If he went to Clemson he would be off the board. Still hard to believe they have never drafted a Clemson player.
    • Simply put, Evero has been shafted during his time here. The talent we left him to play with last season was criminal. They've invested some more into the D this offseason, but it's still a unit that's woefully short of talent.  We should have let him walk in the offseason when he wanted to go.
