Official Panthers/Vikings Tailgate Thread

This Sunday night the Vikings come to town for a primetime 8pm matchup. The Huddle has your FREE to everyone tailgate starting 10 hrs. before kickoff. Nobody else in town offers this and it's a no brainer way to get your fill of food and good times before the game. Tailgating can be expensive, and this opportunity allows you to eat great food much cheaper than trying to do it yourself.

We are again proud to have Ranucci's Big Butt BBQ (www.ranuccis.com) doing the food this week with his new cooking rig. Come on down and get your fill of award winning BBQ from a contestant in the 2010 BBQ nationals next year in Memphis. The menu this week includes: BBQ, slaw, baked beans and yellow eye beans, buns for sammiches, potato salad maybe, wings, turds, steak crostini, and whatever else we think of before Sunday. As usual there will be plenty of waters and sodas as well to drink.

All donations this week go directly to Ranucci's for providing us with this great food. The bike drive is over for the year as they will all be presented to the Marine Corps this Sunday. Alex has helped us out tremendously this season (making no money) and made many people smile with his great food. His food is the reason many people show up so please be generous in your donations.

Here's the rest of the details:

1. Where? Our Free Huddle Tailgate is at a parking lot that borders Church St, Poplar, and 3rd St. downtown. The lot is right across the street from Picassos's downtown. Specifically in that lot our tailgate is closest to the corner of Poplar and 3rd. right on the sidewalk. We have 3 tents and lots of Carolinahuddle.com banners to help you locate us. We are RIGHT beside the lower entrance to this lot.

2. When? This week we will start at 10am. The appetizers will not be ready until later in the afternoon and the main courses will be served around 6pm.

3. What will be there? Lots. We have plenty of tents for cover from rain. We provide for free all the food and non alcoholic drinks. We'll have some chairs to sit in too. There will also be plenty of music and good people.

4. How much? If you park in that lot it's $30. You DO NOT HAVE TO PARK THERE TO PARTY WITH US! There are many lots a few blocks back that are MUCH cheaper, even down to $5. Take advantage of that or take the train into town for a few bucks. To tailgate please donate as much as you can til it hurts. Please be generous and consider how convenient our tailgate makes things for you and how much you save vs. going into the game and buying all this or trying to do it yourself.

5. Who is there? Most of the people there are people on this website and their friends and family. All of us were new at one time or another. Please don't be shy if you've never been here before. We make friends easily. We give our food and non-alcoholic drinks away for free to ALL, even opposing fans are welcome.

6. Is this tailgate kid friendly? We do not police adult behavior before football games. We do not take responsibility for what kids may see or hear during the tailgate. Generally most adults mind their manners around them, but you never know what they may be exposed to during their time there so use your own judgment.

Most important please bring your own drinks if you want alcohol. The Official Huddle Tailgate does not in any fashion provide alcohol as part of its tailgate. We do not accept responsibility for anyone's actions as a result of what they consume at a tailgate.

Heaven in your mouth.:drool5:

Damn right....those were incredible.

Also, I am mixing up about a gallon of hot chocolate to bring (in insulated pump thermoses)...along with bottles of Peppermint Schnops and Khalua to mix in.

Alex: if you have a big pot you can bring, I will bring an extra gallon of milk and extra hot chololate mix just in case 1 gallon of hot chocolate is not enough. It is looking like a cold one on Sunday.

Sunday's forecast on Weather.com is saying a high of 40 degrees during the day with a 40% chance of a few snow showers. Low Sunday night is 27 degrees......Finally some true football weather.

    • Push em to the brink!!! Shut em down Freddie!
    • I tend to look at all of these guys and wonder how committed they are to doing special teams? It's a big deal when you're fighting for roster spots. And we need massive refreshes to all phases of the special teams game. And the idea that four or five of these players could see rotational use outside of special teams would be a win. This team has accumulated quite a bit of dead wood over the last five years and its time to take an axe to some of it. These new fellows have a shot to benefit from that if they can really push. That being said, wow that receivers room is crowded right now. I'm not sure if I was a vet player with more than 2 years experience other than Adam Thielen if I'd be too sure of my future here. Tet is guaranteed a spot, Coker earned his for sure and they aren't done with XL developing yet. That's only two to three spots left for the entire room. It's going to be very competitive and better for Bryce's future, too. Safety and linebacker are the opportunity spots here this season. There's room for the right guy and we may see a starter eventually from one of these UDFAs, either by merit or injury.
    • Aho and Jarvis just gripping it too tight right now. Relax, play their 200 ft game and the shots will start to find the net. Freddie has been excellent and welcome back Mista Svechnikov. Burns.....well, thank goodness for Slavin.
