I Would Be Willing To Keep John Fox

Hayden Panettiere

Fox would do this if he had a QB that would keep defenses honest and extend drives occasionally.

the Titans made a run and turned there season around by doing what we should of been doing......running the ball even when defenses aren't being kept honest.

No he wouldn't. Even when D-Will was gashing defenses for huge runs, he was still barely getting the ball. I remember against Miami D-Will was averaging 9.4 yards per carry and only got the ball 13 times, and Delhomme passed the ball 42 times. No matter how well the run is doing, he always abandons it.

This season D-Will is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and Stewart is averaging 4.6, they should both be getting the ball at least 20 times a game EACH. and NO MORE of this around the edge running with Stewart, he is best going through the middle plowing people over, not going around them.

the only reason is cause the owner steped in cause coach fisher did'n wanna start vince so don't give jeff fisher any credit cause his stubborness was just as bad.

3 things have to happen before i'm ok with him staying:

1) bring in charlie weiss and let him have control over the offense. i don't care what job title you give him, just let him run the offense with fox keeping his hands off.

2) QB situation has to be addressed. let weiss and rip work together to get the best QB possible for us. i don't care if it's early in the draft or a FA....i just want them to get someone good in that can lead the team into the future. moving on past jake would be key.

3) 2010 is the last year of his contract unless he gets a ring for the club.

The Titans have attempted more passes and completed a higher percentage of passes then the Carolina Panthers. They lead the Panthers in pretty much every passing statistic except interceptions, we have double (trouble?).

The Panthers have the exact same number of rush attempts as the Titans through 13 games. Only difference is the Titans have a higher YPC.

The Jets and Dolphins on the other hand DO run the ball even when defenses aren't honest and have significantly more carries than the Panthers. If the playoffs started today neither team would make it. neither would Titans or Panthers for that matter. Top 4 run offenses are running nowhere fast.

I can see it being a passing league right now too just because it is very tough for a mediocre passing team to come from behind..while these great passing teams are able to come back from large deficits and being forced to throw the ball doesn't slow them down..it's why the Saints and Colts are still undefeated..

I doubt he will change much. I think he is a good coach, and I wouldn't mind having him back. Considering some of the obstacles the Panthers have run into this year, we have still not had as bad of a season as many teams would have had.

However, that is not an excuse and we need to start winning more consistently, and so far that hasn't happened with John Fox as our coach. Sometimes a change is simply needed to bring life back into a team.

So I don't really care if he stays or goes next season, but if he does stay, it needs to be an awesome season for me to still support him as our coach.

    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
