potential trade for boldin

PlayMoore!

I didn't see this on the first page and I figured if it had been posted there would be a lot of comments on it and it would be on the first page. If it has been posted, I apologize.

Anyways, my brother just told me that he was watching a streamcast on nfl.com and they said that the cardinals are going to trade him and that CAROLINA, baltimore, and miami had talked to them about it. I'm gonna go look for the link and I'll post it when I find it.

More likely to happen at the end of the year, maybe involving Peppers and 2nd for Boldin and a 1st?

Not after the Jeckel and Hyde performance Pep has given this year. Doubt very seriously Q will be in Carolina next year, though I would love for him to be!

I team looking for a #1 would give up more for him..

Yep, I could easily see Cleveland, Oakland or the Giants wanting him. I actually could even see the Colts going after him in the offseason, can you imagine Manning with Boldin, Wayne and Clark not to mention Garcon with how he's been playing as a rookie. Just proves the point an elite QB can make decent receivers look good. However an elite QB and elite WR's are just deadly. How I long for a franchise QB!

I could see a team like the ravens doing it.

not putting much stock in it but that would be sweet.

he had mccown throwing to him in AZ a few years back.

at this point anything that makes the team better, i'm all for. getting him here would do that. if it cost peppers, i'd be totally ok.

a couple things to consider...peppers has his offseason workouts in arizona and has been going there for years. it's obvious that he likes the area. the cards aren't a bad team so it's not like we'd be trading him to the lions or anything. they've been to the superbowl more recently than us and because of the division are going to be putting themselves in a position to get there every year. he gets to play half his games inside....sounds like an attractive situation.

also, chike okeafor, bert berry, and karlos dansby all have contracts that are up after this season. okeafor and berry are both older than pep and play OLB in their 3-4 (more of a hybrid 3-4/4-3) so it wouldn't be as huge an adjustment as it would going to a pure one like in new england. the cards are going to need someone to come in there. plus both okeafor and berry play on the right side....that's where he wants to be anyway.

still a lot of speculating but i could see this having some legs.

as far as boldin is concerned...he wants to be there even less than peppers wants to be here. they don't seem at all interested in keeping him there. he has one year left on his contract and they have needs all over the place. boldin is a luxury there. bringing someone in to take over at ROLB is a necessity.

The Cardinals are in no position to do deals either. They have not been serious in their talks with Darnell Dockett from what I have read and likelihood is that he could be gone when he is a FA (I think this year). They are also probably going to lose Boldin as well as he isn't really happy with the organization not making progress with his contract talks.

The combo of them needing a defensive line playmaker to replace Dockett and us needing a WR could lead to us having some talks. I just hope we don't get the sh*t end of the deal because Pep hasn't "lived up to the hype."

I'd do Pep for Boldin straight up IF we could get Peppers back under a tender. If we can't then there is no point in talking about it because the trade deadline has passed and Pep will be a FA without the tender.

I am not trying to get in an argument with you, but here is the article from Rotoworld, and it doesn't mention that any team besides the Ravens have contacted the Cardinals on the subject of Boldin, and that was last year.

ESPN's Adam Schefter said on Sunday NFL Countdown that he believes this is the offseason Anquan Boldin gets traded.

Schefter mentioned Baltimore as a possible landing spot; Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome made inquiries about Boldin last offseason and is still desperate for receiver help. Even after acquiring Boldin, Newsome might need to find another starter because Derrick Mason is expected to retire. Other clubs that might have interest: the Dolphins, Browns, Panthers, and Bears.

This is not what I was referring to. I am referring to a podcast that was a live stream on nfl.com. Unfortuantely, I didn't see it, my brother watched it and texted me afterwards. I don't know where to find it on their website, but I don't think he would make up watching it and then text me about it afterwards. You can choose to believe me or not, your choice. Either way I'm not losing any sleep over it :)
