If Weis becomes the OC...

...then the natural next step in things would be to get a Weis pupil for quarterback.

Which of these choices would you prefer?

1) Make a trade for Brady Quinn (difficult, but doable)

2) Make a trade to draft Jimmy Claussen (very difficult, but still probably doable)

3) Let Weis coach up a re-signed Matt Moore or Josh McCown

Yes, there is also the option of getting an outside QB, but for the purposes of this discussion, I'm limiting the choices to the options shown.

I go with # 2 but if matt moore get better I'll go with 3 and cut mccown and sign a good WR like Desean Jackson !!

Let's see how Moore does this weekend, hungry desperate Giants team, in a cold and very hostile Giants stadium and feeling pretty good about themselves after beating the Redskins.

The thought of Fox and another draft, a very important draft, for Carolina is frightening to me. It's QB time, you know, the position Fox doesn't believe in drafting and does not know how to tutor (supposedly).

Not to mention, getting free agents to come to Charlotte with a lame duck coach and staff.

Why would we have to get rid of Davidson if Weis came over to Carolina? Has anyone thought about keeping Davidson but just demote him and let him work soley at one position? We could always move Maguzu (sp?) back to TEs and make Davidson the offensive line coach.

My statement is that Weis' ties to Davidson wouldn't allow us to fire Davidson to get Weis, so why would Davidson take a demotion for the same purpose? Or even better, multiple coaches take a demotion for the new guy?

    • MHS, You are missing Claudin Cherelus is a LB that's in the mix for the 4th spot. He's been here for 2 years and had a couple injuries. I mean he was a wavier claim and been here for evero system, just had bad luck when given a chance. Jon Rhat is the current leader mainly cause of he is the ST ace. But Id say, Cherelus has the same % to make the roster.  CB has the recent wavier claim of MJ Devonshire a 2024 7th rounder. He's got the good-great combine numbers but he's small size. Still he's in the mix for backup duties, in fact all the non-UDFA are wavier claims.  ______________________________________________________________   Dam shame about Clowney. I view this as a bad move. I feel clowny is well worth the 7.7, even as a backup. He played hard the whole year without help. I just feel he would have helped more than either DJ Johnson or Barno.  My only cope is he's 32 and at any point his miro-knee could force him to drop off a cliff performance-wise. I wanted to keep him around at least until the trade deadline and if no chance at playoff, flip him for a anything. NFL is a meat grinder, no love for locals....
    • Might as well. We need to get these rookies on the field and see if they can play ASAP.
    • This hate this part of football and then you have to get down to the 53 Man Roster 🙁
