As for his future, Delhomme said he still thinks he can be a successful quarterback and was adamant that he wants to remain in Carolina and help turn things around.

“Oh, 100 percent, yes,” Delhomme said. “There is nothing inside of me that says, ‘Let’s try to start over someplace else.’ Absolutely not. Not even remotely close.”

There will be plenty of speculation over Delhomme’s future in Carolina both locally and nationally this off-season, but that’s something he won’t spend much time thinking about.

“Whatever happens, happens,” Delhomme said. “That's how I live my life and what's meant to be is what's meant to be. That's what I always kind of go by. We'll see what happens. Who knows?

As for his future, Delhomme said, “It all depends on the powers that be, what they decide. But I think they look at the whole body of work. I think they look at practice and I think we do a good enough job of knowing when it’s time and it’s not time for certain players. We’ll just let that play out when it has to play out.”

When asked if he thinks he’ll be made the team’s scapegoat for team’s offensive struggles this season, Delhomme said, “Not at all. Not in the least bit. That’s not the makeup here. You have certain teams that look for that. I don’t think we’re that type of franchise.”

Delhomme did snarl at the idea that he didn’t look like the same quarterback as in past years.

“I disagree 100 percent because I think there were games where I threw the ball better than I did in many years,” Delhomme said. “... But just all in all offensively, in my opinion, we didn't carry our end of the bargain, so to speak, specifically the pass game.”

Gman says that Jake needs to do whats best for himself and this organization and call it quits. As awful as a QB as he is Jake is still a classy guy with a ton of heart so it often pains gman to have to call him all sorts of names every sunday when he is stinking it up. But we all know if Fox is still here then he will be the starter no matter what. That is why it is important for JR to do the right thing and can John Fox at the end of the year.

If he wants the job he's going to have to earn it again for first time in 6-7 years. Moore has earned the inside track to the #1 QB next year, so far.

Hate to play downer here but this is John Fox we're talking about here.

According to him I'm sure Jake just "picked a bad season to have a bad season"

"This move doesn't change anything about his future," said Hurney. "We feel the same about Jake as we did yesterday before we put him on I.R. We've made it clear we have confidence in Jake."

Hope to your ass fired along with Fox during the offseason

"You can go to a couple of games I threw the ball better than I did in many years," he said. "All in all, offensively, in my opinion, we didn't carry our end of the bargain, so to speak, especially the passing game."

Yes, only a couple games you threw well. The rest were poo and you cost us games. It may involved "we" some of the time, but it was mostly all just "you".

As for his 55.5 completion percentage, which is 4.2 percent below the career average he had coming into the season, Delhomme said:

"I think a lot of factors played into that, but ultimately when you throw the football, you're the last one who has it in your hands, so you've got to put the blame on the quarterback."

You're the one making the decision of where to throw it there genious.

Well thank you for f**king ruining my Christmas....asshat.

I think his last 12 games says everything that needs to be said. Practice is one thing, but when the games count, Jake is poo and needs to go away. But if he is the starter, might as well write off the 2010 season now!

    • And once again I showed you it’s been pretty even. We spent 2nd and 3rd rounders this past draft on edge rushers. No one’s going to sit here and do the math on a draft value chart etc. the only reason I even entertained this was because you said we’ve spent nothing on defense when that simply isn’t true. It also didn’t help we traded our ONLY WR worth a damn to trade up for Bryce soo… And this is kind of the issue with the anti Bryce crowd. This crowd tends to blame him for the trade up. I was team Stroud. Had the panthers not taken Young the only other QB they were going to take was Richardson. So your issue should be with Tepper, Morgan, Fitterer not Bryce.  Bryce is who he is and it was pretty obvious who he was during the draft process. Bryce is slowly developing into that guy most thought he’d be. Give him a WR like Jamo and this offense as a whole would improve greatly.  Anyone thinking he was the next Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen is clearly slow. Bryce was always going to need pieces around him much like EVERY other QB Burrow has Chase and Higgins and they’ve done nothing. After losing in AFC Championship in 2022, Burrow is 17-15. QB’s need a team around them It’s why a Jalen Hurts led Eagles team dismantled a Pat Mahomes led KC team in the SB Imo the QB’s doing the most with the least up until this year have been Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson  This year it’s Drake Maye and Josh Allen  Outside of the 3-5 elite type QB’s I’m not really sure what people expect here. Is Bryce ever going to be in that elite category? Nope. Should we punt on Bryce and keep swinging? I don’t think so. Should we keep swinging while hanging onto Bryce? Yeah but I don’t know what that looks like This team as a whole isn’t very good. Offense and defense and that’s the simple truth
    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
